[Ang Mo Kio] Primary Schools
-
Hi
Can someone advise the preferred choice of primary schools in Ang Mo Kio based on academic performance aside from Anderson Pri and St Nick? Tks? -
Dear Experience Parents
Weโre staying in Bishan St.22 area, currently there are few schools in the neighbourhood, kindly advise us which school to enroll for our daughter born year 2007 (this year will be 5 years old) and what should we prepare.
Within 1km:
1 Teck Ghee
2 Townsville
Within 1-2km:
1 Ai Tong
2 AMK Primary
3 Guan Yang
4 Jing Shan
5 Kuo Chuan
Weโre Catholic family, will we have a better chance to enter Catholic school but none within 2km? kindly advise.
With current MOE P1 registration new rule we as PR has very limited option, and we understand goverment move.
Your advise on which good school will give our daughter higher chance to enter is appreciated.

I also posted the same query on Bishan area; since we live in Bishan-AMK boundary.
Thank you -

Hi, do not go to AMK Primary school, the principle is not responsive and some of the teacher are violent and not responsible. They do not really prepare the student for their PSLE and if you refer to their website, their PSLE standard are below national average.Dear Experience Parents

Thank you for your info. 6 more schools to choose. -
Townville and Teck Ghee have good review from others parents who stay around my area and also a feedback from 1 of the Guan Yang teacher that GY is not that great.
I intend to register my DD to Marymount Convent, does anyone has any feedback to share with me? -

CHIJ Our Lady of Good Counsel is located at Burghley Drive (Serangoon Gardens). It is not affiliated to CHIJ Toa Payoh. It is affiliated to St Joseph's Convent at Sengkang. It is quite a small school and like most convents, they focus on good English. -

If you want a Catholic school near Bishan, the nearest would be Marymount Convent. You can try for Phase2B (no need to volunteer) since you are Catholic and most prob no need to ballot coz Marymount Convent only requires balloting at Phase 2C Supp. This is becoz most Singaporean parents will try other more popular schools first before coming to Marymount. However it is actually not bad so if you are not that kiasu, you can consider putting her in Marymount during Phase 2B and there will be no competition even if you are >2km away.
Likewise for CHIJ OLGC at Phase 2B. But CHIJ OLGC fills up at Phase 2C within 2km.
