My friends and my kids were from Just,we didn't see any improvement after 2 years. The teachers are not dedicated, just doing assessments and they expect you to buy all the assessment books they published!!!!

Hi, which branch are you with? Mind if i ask if your child was actually already quite good? Thats why u don't see much improvement? My ds is that type who is very borderline ones, so if there are any more slight mistake he makes, he will fail liao... so am actually looking for a tuition centre that can see \"results\"

          Hi,

Does anyone has any experiences with British Council for K1/K2 at Marsiling branch? I heard the teachers for Kindy level are new teachers and they are on contract. I would like to know the learning experiences.

          😄

            Hi,

My girl went thru PRP (K1 September) and ICR (K2, one year) at ICANREAD Woodlands Civic Centre and gained tremendously. She went from only knowledge of A-Z phonics and a few blends to independent reading within 15 lessons.
            So highly recommend ICanRead.

Also attended 2 terms (16 lessons) of The Writer’s Place at Woodlands CC.
It is good for writing compo. But if your child is already quite good,
progress may be a bit slow as alot of repetition.

So, I am putting her back to ICanRead (Advanced Writing and Exam Skills - AWES) next year, P2.

            Hope this helps. Cheers!

              Please see my earlier comments.

Are you just looking at writing skills cos The Writer's Place only
focus on that. ICanRead's AWES for Primary students is more
              well-rounded.
              😄

                      Hi,

I’ve a K1 going next year. She is currently doing a phonics program with J&E. I like the program but I feel that phonics alone is insufficient. So I was looking around for an additional english program so that she can be a all rounder by P1.

I looked at BC (as my P1 and P2 are there), I felt that what they are doing for K1 might duplicate the phonics program alot. So decided against it as I wanted something in addition and not just phonics. I called MA but I wasn’t too impressed. I went to Lorna Whiston and liked what I saw and the course composition is 20% phonics and emphasize on other areas like reading, writing, etc… so in the end, I decided to go for LW.

Hi, Can i know why you want to change school. I am also considering ICR and BC. Thinking of ICR cos it is more convenient for me. Any comments appreciated. Thanks.
