I think it was quite reasonable as DD only comes over to cuddle in our bed when she’s having a nightmare. I heard before that if a child facing nightmares is not comforted, it might develop into her subconsciousness seeking other alternatives, eventually leading to spilt personalities to handle the fear or sleep walking to be occupied with anything else than lying paralysed in bed with fear for nightmares…

so i’d rather sleep with her beside than to break it off…

I think it doesn’t matter till what age they stay with you 'cos when they hit a certain age, you can dream on. They might not even step into your room. Enjoy your time with your kids while you can.

You have said my mind. Yesterday, my boy was angry with me and refused to sleep with me, I start to get worried :scared:

My kids have been sleeping with us since they were born due to practical reasons - I breastfed them and did not want to walk in and out of the room each time they needed a feed. This went on even after they have been weened off and I never seriously considered having them in a separate room on separate beds all by themselves until recently - they kept fighting over 'who sleeps with mommy tonight'! I always answer them - if you ask me who, I'd say Papa should sleep with me tonight. Problem is, the bedrooms in HDB flats are so small these days you could hardly fit in 2 single beds plus bookshelves and 2 study tables and computer tables into one room, not to mention the toys that the kids are still hanging on to. It's only a matter of time we find a solution to this since the kids' legs are disrupting my sleep these days - they're growing up real fast.. 😢

You either put a double decker, or a pull-out bed then.

Pull-out bed, yes - not double decker - not auspicious for person sleeping below.

My DS sleeps in his own room since 3 years old but the problem is he brings his daddy along & refuse to let him go until now........ He is 12 already. When he was 6 years old, we successfully trained him to sleep alone but when he went P1, he got scared by ghost stories told by his classmates & our effort went to the drain. :gloomy:

                    How now? 😢
