Limlim wants to see hard evidence? D evidence has gone limp after d act! :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

      witness/testimonies is also evidence what..

don't tink too much..

Who will the the witness who will testify? LTK? CSM? Sylvia? AO's husband? The doctor, as you so imply? The maid?

Who is it, who is in possession of the information, will be motivated to do anything other than keep a tight lid on things?

Why does LTK dare to issue a gag order? If he did not feel that he had at least a reasonable chance of keeping on top of the information, would he not have issued something by now?

Therefore, in the absence of such information, which will not be forthcoming, does not one then look to what has in fact been said.

I say again, despite repeated questioning, the responses have been; \"We do not comment on rumours\", \"We have nothing to add\", \"I am not taking questions\"

There has not been a single denial or clarification issued despite pointed questioning. They are just hoping that this will blow over. This is obvious to all except the die-hardest of supporters, who will create excuses for them when they have not even tried to create one for themselves. That is the saddest part.

This is not the behaviour of a political party aspiring to greater heights.

Again, I DO NOT pass judgement on YSL. I agree that he is entitled to his privacy, and good luck to all of them in solving their personal mess, it is a real tragedy IMO. As a public figure however, there are greater expectations. When things blow, you either clarify, or bear the stigma of doubt. There is no free ride.

LTK's gag order is gag-worthy. It compromises the principles of the party. It hampers their present and future political performance. It tarnishes their credibility. It's cynical subtle abuse of their supporters.

You as the WP supporter, can do your role by demanding some accountability and transparency from the leadership. If you don't, the next time something comes along, they will do the same thing to you again. And you will find yourself trying to defend them when they aren't even trying to defend themselves.

with reference to the rumour.. (not yet a fact)

hmm.. did the write explain how did he conclude that the child is YSL's? since the woman is married, could be her husband's rite..? no?
If so, why not just say it? Is that not the absolute easiest thing to do to get out of media scrutiny? The moment they say that, tomorrow's news item will be on something else already.

didn't get your point.. I'm juz curious how did the writer know that the child is YSL's? (assuming rumour is true) I'm not talking about how they handle it.. totally different issue leh..

if the woman is single.. then.. reasonable to assume that.. but if she's married..? or maybe they were separated? Any juicy details that I didn't notice..

Yet, that doesn't mean they publish anything and everything the source tipped them. If anything at all, they have to be careful what they published would not come back to haunt them in the form of legal action by the aggrieved party(ies). Despite this, they go ahead with the story and if the party(ies) involved choose to remain quite and any form of clarification, denial, admission is not forthcoming, what conclusion you want the readers to infer? Just come out and deny everything categorically if the 'rumours' is not true, for goodness sake.

Then, why, why did the writer, who appears to be \"in possession of the information\", decides to leak it out? If the affair is true, the fact that the writer/author of the article leak it out just proven your point wrong, isn't it? There will be pple who are motivated to expose it.. isn't it? Now, the question is, why did they not show their face? if it is fact, what are they afraid of? This speaks a lot about the credibility of the news.

Next, just quote a factual example.. JN's case. There was an affair, and the directly or indirectly related parties actually stand out and talk about it. A says this and this etc etc.. B come in and add salt and vinegar etc etc.. Not impossible, isn't it?

One word summaries all.. \"rumours\". from unverified sources.

it is a matter of principle. One can choose to ignore such rumours.

However, if got real person accuses them, then, they will need to clarify and response. If not, then like what you say, there is no accountability.

I do not feel why should they be accountable to un-substantiated rumours on the internet. if there is a real person's accusation, then it is different story.

              You see the difference?

SG politics is so boring.. phantom writer spinning stories, put WOT and just stop there.. not like taiwan so exciting like chiu meifeng or even m'sia ones got videos etc.. The writer should try harder and put a picture or 2..  not professional enough..

As for Steven Tan’s case, the 2 women (claimed he sexually harassed them) did not come out to show their faces, then why does he need to refute the allegations?

Why didn’t MIW issue any gag order? Apparently, at that time, the ruling party felt accountability to the public is impt as they’re about to recruit a new MP, a public fig.

Illogical. Their reputation is hanging in the balance and they stand by the wayside? That's the excuse you have created for them?

How about the rumour regarding the candidate sleeping around to climb to the top?

Apparently, they are not very consistent on whether to response to all rumour either..

so, in your view, is it

                    a) imply that the rumour is true?
                    b) they don't feel that accountability to rumours is necessary?

                    or both?

Maybe you're right, it hurts their reputation.. their popularity suffers at the next GE..

maybe you're wrong, people don't give much credibility to online un-substantiated rumours.. it doesn't hurt them a bit.

I have no comments on which might be the case.. whether it really affects their reputation.

maybe LTK believe in the 2nd scenario..? and cannot be bothered to react to those rumours..

Imho, I thk the rumor is true and they hvent figure out or don’t know what to say to those rumors.

Therefore those ‘no comment’ words which irks me as well. If u did it, just bloody admit it, face up to the consequences n move on. If u didn’t do it, refute it n sue (if u want to).

If you want to be a public figure, forget abt hvg a ‘private life’. Want a private life then stay private lor!

N I also dont thk this is a rude or intrusive qn. It’s just a yes or no qn!!

What’s an intrusive qn you might ask, things like: How does she perform in bed? Is she better than your wife? How long is the process? If the media had asked these qns after he had said yes, then I thk the ‘no comment’ word can be used!!
