i don't think we can shut them up like that. we'll just push them further away.
        i use reasoning now.
last week, when it was a scheduled ipad day and my son had not finished the work i allocated for him, i asked if he felt that he should do his work instead of playing. did told him that i cannot force him if he chooses not to, but he has to face the consequences if his performance go down. he thought for a while and then forgo the play time for that day. it was his words few weeks back of 'you cannot force me if i don't want to do it', that woke me up. so i worked up other incentives. i had seldom bring them to the playground, so i worked that into the daily programme on condition that he finished 80% of work by a certain time if not, it'll be too late to go down (sunset). spare time at night, we play board games or i read to him, so he has to forgo that if he cannot finish his work in time.
my consolation is that while he talks back unless he is in a bad mood, usually it is in a joking/harmless manner and he is trying to express his views. when he is in bad mood, he will hide in his bedroom and close the door. cos he said he knows that i'll not listen to him, so no point saying what he has on his mind. :frustrated:

Now I am facing with my son that he never finish his work or hurrily finish his work an go to computer. He agreed to see on weekends. Then he said any of two days in a week can.A big mistake is I let him play in facebook games in my account in the holiday. After school starts I said no facebook games cos that need to go every day.He said he can freeze. Then never keep the promise and asked me to go in the weekdays.Nowerday I am not firm enough with him.Packing & moving the house he didn’t see computer for a week.He said he studied already but didn’t see, this week he wanted to see 10 days continuously.I said only two days for a week, only can see two days. Then yesterday he said he wanted to go now otherwise it will die.he need to feed.I so fedup.Previously I was playing FB games that time he also playing. Then I stopped and asked him to stop.He stopped. Then I don’t know when he started this FB games.Never asked my permission. So yesterday I just took the cane and beat him for the stubborn and told him you started without my permission and now getting more problem. So today onwards u have to stop FB games. Then he agreed.

i got heard before a colleague, come into office with his hand in bandage. the son refused to stop computer game/or play with out permisison, the dad so angry smash the computer screen. lol.
we have to be firm. my boy has no other spare time because he does his work very slowly. the little spare time he had, i spent it with him so he hardly has time to play computer (and computer is his dad's property and my boys are all so scare of the dad, lol). 😓

My school told me they don’t subscribes this magazine. They subscribes national geographic(I think, forgot). I read in Little Red Dot magazine website that individual cannot subscribes.
