Does anyone know when does the swimming lessons start?
So the swimming lessons are starting earlier now ? My son's modular CCA (swimming) started in P3 or P4. The good thing is, it was conducted during curriculum time. -
Jennifer:
Looking through the timetable of the TTLT Maths. They offered the MO lessons in Term1 and 2. But don't know how related to the MO competitions. I still registered my son for this year's TTLT Maths. Including The Sup class, CCA, he need to stay 4 out of 5 afternoons in the school.
My boy did not attend last year TTLT Maths. I did not hear any sch organised MO P5 from him. He has opted out of this year TTLT EL & MA too. I hv also pulled him out of Maths Hub this year.dyh:
So finally the math olympiad training is here. And it seems to be offered to all who were in TTLT math in P4? Will your son be going for the school MO training since you said he goes for the math hub one? Mine will opt out the school MO training since it will become like repetition...
The MO competition is some time in the mid-year, so the school training is definitely geared towards the competition. Surprisingly last year's school magazine did not mention the pupils who took part in MO. Prior to that, they had a list of the pupils with the award achievements. it cannot be that nobody won an award last year?
I dun think he brou back the TTLT MA timetable, I only saw the TTLT EL one. Very surprised to hear that all M1 pupils are offered the MO training, not like in the past only a selected few.
The reason why we opt out of this year TTLT programmes was the consideration that my boy would be spending 4 weekdays in sch. Add on his Wed piano class, it would be 5 afternoons.
Abt the MO training, I would advise not to rely too much on the sch provided training IF a more prestigious award is desired. -

During my elder boy's P5, there were 3 Maths competition in P5- Raffles Institution partnered by HeyMath!, NUSHigh partnered by MOE & S'pore Mathematical Society and ACS(I) partnered with HotHouse & Casio. Then in P6, one organised by Hwa Chong Institution (High School) Mathematical Learning & Research Centre. -

AMC8 has easy to hard questions as it caters to those from P5 to Sec 2. The tough thing about AMC8 is finishing the 25 questions within 40 mins. My son said many of the questions involved a lot of working.Just for your interest..

Son went to dental clinic for checking and simple tooth extraction...school dentist will extract the tooth only when it is VERY loose.
