          Hi

My boy will be starting P1 next yr at MSHS & I’m so glad to have found this networking group specifically on MSHS. I have an older boy in there as well, P4 next yr.

So far, I’m pretty satisfied with the sch in areas of academic & disciplinary. Very on the ball kind of system which is good for the boys.

Something to share with all P1 parents next yr…MSHS has been allocating their P1 boys to different classes according to phases. They will put boys from phase A in the 1st few classes, followed by phase B & lastly phase C. There are 9 classes in all; A to I. Do bear in mind that as they are not a govt sch but rather a govt aided one, they do not need to keep the P1 class size to a max of 30 students. So dun get shocked this Sat when you see a class of 34 or 35 boys.

Their ‘eat-in-the-class’ scheme applies to all P1 to P3 students.

As MSHS is a full school, they will have a shorter calendar year. My older boy has started his sch holiday since last Fri.

So much for now & thanks for letting me share.

              Hi,

Just saw the book list for P1, that’s very expensive, about $180. Do they use all these books, or any books that students will not use?

Understand from other parents, that some of the books may be redundant.

BTW, my son is going for P1 next year, and I’ll be seeing some of you in this Sat’s orientation!

                  Hi Parents,

I think it will cost me a bomb this Sat 😢 imagine my cost doubled since my twin boys will be starting P1 in MS next yr...

Did anyone know if the boys have relaxation time since they will be having catered food in class? It would be quite sad if they are confined the whole day (except during PE) and i thought recess time is a time for kids to de-stress a little...

Oh yes, after the boys finish with their food, most of the time they are allowed to leave the classroom for some fun......recess is half an hour so there shld be ample time for ur boy to eat & play. No worries.

                        Hi,

I was running through the book list and there are quite a no. of optional references e.g. CLIPS Supplementary Readers (Chinese), My Pals are Here Maths Test and Maths Homework, online animated textbooks, etc. Are these useful? :?

Also, anyone using the portal to pre-order books online?

                        Thanks.
