Myanmar maids

My last one claimed to be 23. Nowhere near maturity to carry out work responsibly. Worse than the younger one before her. Worked only 2 months and prefer to quit and suffer another salary cut to agent for transfer than to save up the money.

The young burmese dnt really know much about money or rather they have not seen the full sum and is quite contented with free lodging and food plus free sight seeing on our expense. 20 dollars is a months salary for my previous maid in burma. I guess most of the young ones are earning thereabout or more so 2 months frm the agent is no sweat to them.

Looking at all the threads. It seem like the Burmese maids are no good. Is there anyone with experience of good burmese maid? I am looking for Burmese maid that live near the Chinese borders that can speak Mandarin so that she can communicate with MIL. My current Indo maid giving me problem as she often tell lies and argue with me and DH. And my neighbourhood has too many Indo maids so it is easy to get into bad company as taking care of elderly has a lot of free time.

I think it all depends on the girl, I think those frm Kaching may speak teochew or mandarin, problem is sometimes they do understand chinese but tend to claim they dnt know, the young burmese are just as bad telling lies and eventually they will still mingle with the other races and be influenced so not much diff, normally the burmese are younger than their age and easily influenced too. Perhaps the older ones will be a better choice, they seem more serious in working

My wife is considering looking for a Burmese maid for my mom-in-law after we had many bad experiences with Indon maids in the past.
When my wife interviewed the Burmese maids and asked them whether they would mind having their hair cropped for hygiene reasons, they turned very defiantly and simply said "No" although they seemed rather pleasant initially during the interview.
Given such attitudes, we have second thoughts getting a Burmese maid. Getting a maid nowadays is a real headache. Anyone has any feedback on Burmese maid and their attitude? -
get one and try out, she may turn out ok , u never know but expect them to consume a lot of rice and ur fridge may get raided as they like to try different types of food so u got to tell them whats not for them, make sure the girl is not 16 cos all their ages are not correct. keep ur money and jewellery away frm them. Expect to have communication problems but if u are the kind that dont make conversation much, then its fine. commonsense , dnt expect that too soon.

Attitude wise may differ from person to person. But generally they can be quite stubborn (hard to teach, don't listen to instructions), BIG ego, cannot lecture too much and steep learning curve in communication.

Seems like the same for all nationalites of maids nowadays. They are so protected at the great expense of employers. Very skewed policies we are having now and the maids are taking advantage of them.....sigh! -
i Would like to provide my point of view - my burmese maid have been working 2 years plus with me. and she is a pleasant girl who does her work well. She is my fourth maid, first 3 were filipo which was a nightmare to me.
Then i engaged her and my nightmare was gone. She helps me a lot and i treat her like my own sister.
