Sorry to side track here, but i will just like to share something with all parents, especially parents with children at Little Skool House at-the-park (@Pearl Bank). I give lessons at my place at pearl bank, used to be teaching in music schools, but have since got married and moved into pearl bank. I will like very much to teach kids piano (they will need to be about 3.5 years old to start). And since Little Skool House at-the-park is just below my place, I thought it will be convienient for parents and their kids to come over and learn piano, and hence I thought of sharing it here!

If anyone’s interested, could always go over to my profile page under music (Felicia Lee). Thank you!

        Hi,

I’m a first time user of kiasuparents. I may be considering putting my child in LSH @ Mountbatten Square in their N2 class. Would be great to have comments/info from parents regarding the school eg the teachers, the curriculum, the environment etc.

        1) Are the teachers caring, friendly and well-trained?

        2) Is the curriculum all-rounded and play-based? Is it bi-lingual? How is the Mandarin programme?

        3) Clean environment?

Any comments & feedback would be great. Thanks

Apparently, LSH in Amk hub hold pre-natal courses after the school has close for the day. Not too sure if the "Mattress" that the Pregnant mothers sit on are the same mattresses that LSH kids sleep on them on a daily basis…I have a friend who has even complained the pillow given to mothers to rest and do exercise dirty, I wonder what are the hygiene standards too.

The one I viewed at orchid country club - yes. Has to purchase 6 sets of uniform. Recommended to do so

Yes, we had 6 sets and had more as time went by... lazy to wash...

Anyway, sometimes I pack 'outside' clothes when we ran out of uniform. Not often; maybe once a week. When they see their friends wearing sch uniform and not them, they will feel weird.
Sometimes, my DS will ask, \"Mummy, why didn't you pack uniform for me..\"

                      Hi mummies

Today I went for a day trial at LSH. The teachers are not bad but one of the steps programme in the morning was taught by a Chinese teacher. She was showing the kids how to make a dough using floor, water, and then she added red ink and allowed the kids to play with the dough. Is interesting, but can I know how is this related to their Literature-based approach? There was no use of books or poems…hmm…I forgot to ask the teacher or P just now…

Teachers sent out parent support information sheet each week to let us know what the children will be doing in school.
