An 11 yr old little girl asked an older lady how old she was. Her reply \"When you are my age I will be 35. So how old am I now?\"

Short qn but no less difficult. Certainly requires a gd grasp of the english language!

the adults were twisting their heads around it... I managed to figure out the answer thru trial and error in a few mins... but without heuristics training I really wonder how I'm gonna teach my kid this... sigh.

The answer is 23. The lady is currently 23 yo. Rite? But I dunno how to use models.


11 + 12 = 23
23 + 12 = 35
