Hi pls help with the following question and thanks in advance.


1. Adrian, Brian and Charlie had some money. After spending a total of $2900, they each had the same amount of money left. Adrian spent 20% of his money, Brian spent 25% of his money and Charlie spent $464. What percentage of his money did Charlie spend?

2. Thomas has a total of 408 blue and yellow marbles. He lost 3/5 of his blue marbles and bought another 32 yellow marbles. As a result, the number of yellow marbles he had was 1/4 of the number of blue marbles. How many more blue marbles than yellow ones had he at first?

At first,

Brian --> 12u + 4u = 16u
Charlie --> 12u + $ 464

3u + 4u + $ 464 --> $ 2900
7u --> $ 2436
1u --> $ 348

At first, Charlie's money --> 12 x $ 348 + $ 464 = $ 4640
$ 464/$ 4640 x 100% = 10%
Charlie spent 10% of her money.

In the end,
Yellow marbles --> 1u
Blue marbles --> 4u

At first,
Yellow marbles --> 1u - 32
Blue marbles --> 4u/2 x 5 = 10u
10u + 1u - 32 --> 408
11u --> 440
1u --> 40

10u - (1u-32) = 9u + 32 = 9 x 40 + 32 =392
There were 392 more blue marbles than yellow marbles at first.

Adrian left with 4/5 of his money
Brian left with 3/4 of his money
So, 4/5 of Adrian = 3/4 of Brian
12/15 of Adrian = 12/16 of Brian

Can someone please help with the following 2 maths questions ...

(1) Varsha had some 20-cent and 50-cent coins.
7/8 of the coins were 20-cent coins and the rest were 50-cent coins.
After Varsha had spent $72.50 worth of 50-cent coins and 5/7 of the 20-cent
coins, she had 2/7 of the coins left.
Find the total amount of money Varsha left.


(2) James, Keith and Leston had a total of 640 toy cars. James had the least number of toy cars. The ratio of Keith's toy cars to Leston's toy cars was 5:4 at first. After James and KEith had each lost half of their toy cars, Keith had 100 more toy cars than James. Given that the three boys had 440 toy cars left, how many toy cars did James have at first ?

1. Jug X and Jug Y are filled to the brim with water. If all the water in Jug X is poured into Container Z, another 28L of water is needed to completely fill it. If all the water in Jug Y is poured into Container Z, another 35L of water is needed to completely fill it. If the water in Jug X and Jug Y is poured into Container Z, it will completely fill Container Z. How much water does Jug X contain when it is 3/7 filled?

The following Problem as per the Answersheet the Ans is 130 but I am getting 121. Can someone help me to check it.

2. Tina, Suzy and Rachel have 144 stamps altogether. At first, Tina gave 12 stamps to Suzy. Then, Suzy gave 8 stamps to Rachel. After that, Rachel gave 20 stamps to Tina. The total number of stamps that Suzy and Rachel have now is half that of Tina has. The number of stamps that Suzy has now is 3/5 of the number of stamps that Rachel has. How many stamps did Tina and Rachel have altogether at first?

After James and KEith had each lost half of their toy cars,the ratio become:
320 - 9U : 5U : 8U (after)


Given Keith had 100 more toy cars than James after they lost half their toy cars.
5U - 100 = 320 - 9U
14U = 420
1U = 30

James had 640-9U at first
= 640 - 9U
= 640 - 540
= 100

James had 100 toys cars at first

I think you just want to check the answer.

The answer is 15 litres.

If you draw some pictorial representation, you’ll be able to see the answer quite clearly.
