Writing Invent at Parkway
-
hi everyone
i heard very gd reviews abt Writing Invent from a chinese school operator. Writing Invent is at the 11th flr of Parkway Center.
Anyone has more to share pls? -
I also wanna know …
I’ve checked out the fees & duration, it’s $100 per month, 1&half hr per lesson… -
I sent my ds there when he was in P3 and at P6. I withdrew him halfway at P6 as I feel that it’s not working for him(and his grade has been stagnant at ‘B’ before and after attending tuition there). I’m not saying that they are not good, but the learning style doesn’t suite ds. The tutor is the also the owner and a very experienced ex-teacher; a very pleasant lady. The worksheets are all done by her and her compo is very structured and very guided; but somehow I feel that it restricts the children’s creativity. She will go through the vocab words in the vocab section, and her worksheets cover most, if not all of paper 2. From what I notice, that the kids will be sitting down, doing their own worksheet, while she will go around assisting them.

Hi junrahmat,
I am looking for a centre at Parkway for my good friend. Her son is also getting Bs. He is in P6, not much time left. May I know what your child got in the end and which centre did you go to in the end? I would really really appreciate your help as my friend’s son needs
URGENT help. -

My son finally got an A for English(PSLE). After I withdrew him from WI, I enrolled him at TAS. That was already in July. The owner, who was also his tutor, told me that it is possible for him to get an A, but he has to work hard since he only had 3 month left to psle. However, he loved the lessons there. He learnt a lot in just 3 months and his compo improved tremendously. Even though we are in the East, I did not mind sending him all the way to Yishun, sometimes 2x a wk for lessons. Nearer towards exam period, TAS also conducted free extra lessons for the kids, we only had to pay the materials fee. Your friend might want to approch TAS, as they also have a branch at paya lebar post office. Good luck

Thank you for sharing junrahmat. My nephew is also in P6, has been scoring B or C. He went for some other centres but did not improve. I will let my sis know about TAS. I have also heard about them and went for their workshops. I find them good but did not know if I should recommend to my sister as she tried so many and they did not work. I’m impressed by the way they really want to help the children by giving those extra lessons.

You're welcome isabella.zola. I'm not sure if TAS still has the free trial class, your nephew might want to try it out first to see if their teaching methods suit him. Good luck to your nephew for his coming psle

Thanks! My nephew just joined and he seems to like it but I know he has a lot of catching up to do. Hope he can do well.

Hi junrahmat, I took a few peeks last week and saw exactly what you described. The students were doing their own work, and she was with a student. Could you share how she teaches? Does she teach in a group at the beginning of each class, and get the students to do while she goes round? How often do they write essays? Thanks in advance!
