      Hi ningning,

You can try Genting Highlands in Malaysia, as it is a child based and young-children-friendly theme park. You can book it as it might be terrible for a young child to take a plane and to Genting, you only need to take a coach ride. If you aren’t keen, try Clubmed Bintan or go to Sunway Lagoon as it is also very child friendly and I am sure that your 2 year old will love it.

If you are looking at local holidays, I'm taking my 2yo to Resorts World Sentosa for 2 nights. Easier to transport her barang barang over. I booked a family room.

My fren tried taking her 1yo to Marina Bay Sands and ended up taking half the house there. She was hesitant when I asked her to join us at RWS. 🙂

M'sia Genting is a good alternative but crime rate in M'sia is quite high so must be extra careful on the way there. Plus 2yo take 5-6hr coach ride (including waiting, breaks etc) is no joke. If you want to go, better to drive up. At least you can bring more barang and control the stops. Would suggest you stay 1 night at Malacca (2hrs drive), then continue on to Genting (another 2 hours). Less stress on the kid.

It all depends on what a family holiday means to you.

Being together and visit places that the adults want to go, or go to places that suit your 2YO?

For me and DH, visit places we like is the top priority. When DS was 1YO, we went Japan 1week on JR train and 1 week self-drive. It was our first time there, so DS was just the ‘toy’ to entertain us. We traveled as per other trips before DS was born. DS was strapped on our body most of the time when we needed to walk, that was easy.

When DS was 1.5YO we went Perth 2 weeks, self drive on camper van. The stressful part was when I as cooking at the back of van he screamed and cried to be with me, while he’s at the front seats. Overall we enjoyed as we went hiking (carried him as a backpack) and visited places we wanted to see, DS enjoyed all the playgrounds too.

But when he was 2.5YO, we did not bring him to China trip for 15 days as the places we visited were not suitable for him to walk on, as at that age he very often wanted us to carry and we were training him to walk on his own, so a big No!

Just before DS turned 4, we brought him to 3 weeks US west coast trip, it was quite a breeze as he could join us for long and tough hikes, and long road trips with little complains.

If your child can sleep anytime in any environment, no special food needed to prepare, I think most places are good to visit. Just go with your likings. If you enjoy the trip, you child will too.

The most important thing is to pre-amp your child’s behavior, prepare his comfort toys/food, entertain him with play as you normally do at home.

Suggestion is to go easy and not worry too much. If need to, train your 2YO here before going, like irregular routines everyday to simulate the trip. Enjoy your holiday!

            Bringing this discussion back.

I am looking at booking a tour for me, my mom and my 2yo. Any opinions about Adelaide and Korea for 2yo?

            Thanks

              how about bali?

many associate bali with romance and yes it's very romantic but it's also a great place to bring the children for a laid-back vacation.u can rent a private villa if budget permits and the airfares are cheaper than going places like hong kong. would recommend areas like ubud especially for the a more cultural side to bali.

              some good sites:

                Hello,

First, I am a 15 year old female. I'm the youngest in my family but by the time I was born my brother (only sibling) had been diagnosed with autism so I was raised learning to take care of him. I dont have a bad life, my family is well off and treats me well, but for some reason I've always had problems. When I was young, I was extremely shy in social situations (which has not changed at all). Ive always been more mature, smarter, and independent than most children my age. I have always took pride in my independence and ability to care for the people around me, but at the same time, for as long as I can remember, I have had this desire to revert back to infancy.
