thread in thin lines.. mash pototoes is good against fries.. but that is high cabo..
that could be bad in long run.. the wushu and rope-skipping coaches will definitely disagree with it. -
Eating Green for kids is important leh… Matter of fact it is essential for our living… Are parents having tough time to get our children to eat them?
Perhaps i am lucky, my boys take salad with me. i can’t appreciate this issue. -

Yes lionheart, that's right, they are from 70s and 80s era. They recall HW as \"ah beng\" school.simsl_sg:
I have 2 friends who used to study in HW and very bad feedback from them. Both of them have kids now and refuse to send to HW. So you can all imagine how bad the comments/impression of the school. Even after i shared how new the facilities, better results....still does not change their mind to send their kids to HW. So it is really individual preference when choosing school.
How old are they? if they have gone into Hong Wen in late 70s to 90s, that was the bad period of Hong Wen.... Every HWS alumni shook their head when they spoken about that era. But they all gave thumbs up the current Principal who built HWS from shambles.. take offline .. i can explain to you. -
SAHM_TAN:
The situation is that his child had some learning difficulties and the school was very patient and accompanied the child to complete his primary school studies. Perhaps of that, the parent was grateful to the school.During the parents' briefing last sat. A parent stood up and shared that he was a former student and why though he is surrounded by top schools near his house he choose HW. He shared that he has very good experience as a student and he feel HW though not a top school, it's a good school. That's why he sent his kid to HW.
Each person's experience with the school is different. I can also share that I know a parent who regretted sending her daughter to one of the top schools in Singapore. But there are many who enjoyed their school lives in top schools too It really depends on many factors.
So far my DD1 enjoy going to school and is happy and that's good enough for me. As for the academic portion, I will work with the teachers.
I like the P and I think it's important to like the leader of the school. -

[/quote]i am not surprise with the remark. Back then after the school was moved to the Beach Road in 1982, there were many dyfunctional family's children studied in the school, the T-score dropped, leadership problems.. many lost confidence to the extend that Heng Hua was not stepping up to help the cause.. also Heng Hua not sending their children to the school.. .. i wont continue. it was a bad chapter in HWS.lionheart:

By the way, how was the lo-hei, did you enjoy the evening? -
lionheart, oic…that’s a bad time back in the olden days.
Lo Hei was fun, especially when every table started to toss the lo hei and meaningful to sing the CNY songs. However, noticed that food was insufficient towards the end and few people still scooping up the remaining bits of food from the tray. Kids could still eat the packet snack tarts and drinks so should be ok. -

great to hear the feedback.. we always keep to tradition. We refuse to change the format so that our young will get to understand what we is a 大团拜.lionheart, oic...that's a bad time back in the olden days.

Too bad it can get boring when one celebrates it every year the same way.. Hope the game give different dimension to the event. I notice the food run abit low at later stage. It has been highlighted to the alumni team . We will improve it next year. -

gosh... abit difficult to choose now
btw am I too late to end him to a more popular school now?
think I not kiasu but bochap!!! till now not yet enrol him
In Singapore context, bochap cannot work.. the kiasuism pushed parents to the edge.
I thought you are not kiasu one? :siam:
