You should bring this up to the principal. The CL teacher should be counselled

If the school does not gather people to write and share materials, where is she gonna get them to give out? If I complain to Principal, the TEACHER will kena when actually, it's simply that there are NO materials to give out.

It is her attitude that you should complain.

                Oh dear.

Wait.. DS was the messenger of your feedback?

In my case i arranged to meet the teacher personally to \"find out\" first if what was happening in class is true (cos children don't necessarily speak exactly what happened at times or may misconstrue a teacher's words or intentions) and we discuss what it is that may not seem to be working in his case, cos he failed almost the whole class for many mini tests (Science) cos it obviously meant no one caught his balls. He was accompanied by a fellow colleague who took notes and also both sides (his and ours) agreed to revisit the issue again after the next mini exam.

I even offered my materials that i let my daughter bring to class plus some Science experiment resources for him to get a headstart. (He wasn't a hands-on teacher and only believed in notes and more notes and slides.. and transparencies explanations.. oh well.. u get the drift. The students didn't catch any ball nor had any understanding of what he was going on and on about. 🀷

He thanked me for understanding and for the barangs and one thing we finally realized was he didn't want parents involvement due to one very bad experience and here we thought he just didn't care. He didn't know how to. Actually he was scared of parents after the experience and went as hands-off as possible with feedback or follow up calls. His morale to teach also went downhill after that. For being forthcoming with his shortcomings, we gave him a chance.

But prior to being given the vocation of the designated CL teacher, she didn't see the need to have any materials at all?

I don't know dear... I only know that DS came home and asked me if he could give his teacher the materials we have at home to share with the class. Clearly, she knows the need for materials. She just doesn't have them. And if she felt painted into a corner and took it out on DS, I understand.

As a professional, she should know that it is never right to take it out on the kids. I blame her for that. She could've have thought it in her head but she didn't have to say it aloud.. or worse, say it to DS! :yikes: Whatever her issues were with the principal and clearly with her colleagues (from how i see it cos it seems she has zero help and a clue to what she was doing) or clearly with herself and in her incapacity to prepare prior to teaching the class to begin with... sorry dear... this wan i blame her. This is what i call a ppl problem.

When i was first assigned my very own class to teach after having shadowed so many seniors after a year, i was elated that i did ground research everywhere and everyday. I was EXCITED to embark and show what i was worth and also to pay tribute to all my seniors for sharing so much with me and showing me the ways of the industry.
