Is $450 min salary now for all maids regardless of experienc

I hired an experienced maid (4 years experience in SG & 2 years in HK) in Aug 2011 and I am paying her $440 with no off days. After her loan is paid up, she requested for 1 off day & I will pay her $420. So far quite happy with her performance since she's a good cook & help me take care of my 5 mth old boy but still keeping fingers crossed since she's just here for not more than 3 months.


I guess we must really look around cos I went to so many agencies in July and finally got this maid at this salary. If you go to those huge & popular agencies, they will tell u all experienced Filipino maids' salary are between $450-$550. Tsk tsk...

Wow!! You managed to get an experienced maid for $440? I see most agencies asking for $500 at least (i.e. some more than 500), and that includes some maids who didn't even complete a 2-year contract (I don't know which fool would pay such a high salary for a maid that's probably problematic)
What agency is that you used?

my indo helper is not going to renew her contract (apr 2012)… so i need to find a replacement.


but now… Indo & Fili oso basically start frm $450 (or if heng can find ard $400) ones right? so may i ask will u still choose an Indo or Fili?

i got my new maid last Dec, her pay is $420 ($20 is for no off-days)…only working experience in Indo only. i got 1 before, working experience in Saudi, her pay is also $420… So i guess may have to check around with the agencies…Different agencies charged differently.

say experience in Msia is abt $410+$20 to $430+$20,

and those with experience from Saudi, UAE, etc is abt $430+$20 to $450+$20…
think experience in Spore also abt this salary…

I assume the +20 is to compensate them for no off days? If they asks for off days subsequently, do we deduct the $20?
