        Hi Cherrygal and phtthp,

        Thanks for your advise. You are right that if I would consider for my grandchildren, NYPS is a better choice. 30 years down the road, My dd might thanks me for that. :boogie:
        But heard that NY is very competitive and need high end tuitions for all subjects to survive. :yikes: I am normally very busy so a bit worried that I might not be able to coach her everyday. St Nick, on the other hand, seems relatively relaxing for the first two years and going to the secondary school should not be too difficult.
        Do you have any ideas how is the culture in NY? Are the teachers caring and teach well.
        not true

          Hi All,

          I am relatively new to this forum… I am slightly in a confuse state… I am an alumni for St Hilda’s Primary… And I can enter phase 2b for ACSJ within 1km… Which is a better school for my son?

          Much needed help

            Depends on where you live and whether you have daughters too. The safer option is St Hilda’s at Phase 2A (no balloting). ACSJ may have balloting at Phase 2B, even if you are within 1km. No guarantee…

              Hi All,

              my DD due to reg for p1 this year and my hubby is GRL at tanjong pagar GRC. I do have a few choices for my DD although my first choice is getting further away from me due to the new bundaries of the recent GE. Can anyone advise me on which school i can send my DD to?

              1st choice : SCGS (intending to move to 1KM and participate in phase 2C;
              2nd choice : CHIJ Kellock (phase 2B but outside 2km)
              3rd choice : St Margaret’s Primary (phase 2B and within 2km)

              I m quite torn as there is a risk to SCGS although that is my first choice. Cant decide bet CHIJ or SMPS, your input is greatly appreciated, thanks!

                Hi Becknat68, is there any other girls' school (besides those you have mentioned) within Tanjong Pagar GRC which you qualify for P2B?

                  Hi, after the redrawn of the boundaries, I believe Tanjong pagar GRC only left with SMPS n CHIJ kellock. Before the GE, there were still SCGS and RGPS…

                    CHIJ Kellock is affiliated to CHIJ St Theresa’s. St Margaret’s is affiliated to St Margaret’s Secondary which is also a popular 2nd choice for RGPS gals who can’t make it to RGS / Nanyang Girls. In terms of the future secondary school, SMPS seems to be a better choice.

                    If you want guarantee, you should move to 1km of St Margaret’s and try Phase2B. Try SCGS at Phase 2C if you are ok with going to a less popular co-ed school at Phase 2C Supp should you fail the balloting. By then, both CHIJ and SMPS will have no seats.

                      Oh I see, if that being the case, I would also agree with cherrygal that SMPS is a better choice. 😄
