Not me leh. It's my niece and i taught her only mon, wed and fri night. The fastest was 1 assessment in 5 days (sat - wed). I thought she was :siao: i only marked and sometime encouraged her to explore other non-standard method for the same question. We completed P4 syllabus in ~4 mths bah

your niece is amazing !!! My son wasn't that hardworking at P4.
Onsponge will be a good kind of challenge for her. The other title she can attempt is Ammiel Wan's challenging problems made easy...orange cover.

kids who like math, really like math.

kids who do not like math (like my son πŸ˜“), make parents πŸ˜“ when trying to do math assessment books. πŸ˜“

Thank Mummies for the complement. I will let her know. But at times, I would prefer her to slow down abit as it does drain in me to come up with questions for her instead of asking her to mug the assessment books. I don't even have the time to go to popular bookstore.

totally agreed with this statement. I realise it is important to get the child to love Maths otherwise it is very frustrating should the child \"shuts\" off. That is why loads of motivation, no screams and no nags. I know it is hard to restrain....but what to do.

Yup...when kids like certain subjects...any amount of work given for that subject is NO problem finishing. My son dislikes Math but it is a subject which requires lots of practice...so he has to do.

After tried my son’s questions I wanted to do more qns. I asked my son to do, he struggled then I taught him. I think a bit late already to practice on this type of qns. Hmmm…

                    Wow laughingcat!
                    Ur niece is amazing!!!
U mean u finish whole four books! Or only certain units?
My son likes Sci, whenever I explain he will listen. For maths, he just doesn’t want to listen my explanations.he intention just finished the qn and moved to his playing area. He love chess, but I don’t know why he doesn’t like or willing to do maths,Though parents love maths. May be I didn’t teach interestingly? How to make person to like maths and do more sums?

Teach interestingly to like maths?... :scratchhead: ..hmm... that is truly a CHALLENGE, at least for me... I rather put him in enrichment class for the teacher to explain the methods to him because I know i just cant keep myself sane :siao: esp if i need to explain over and over again for the same thing and him making repeated mistakes... :frustrated:

both my kids do not like math.

me and my husband do not like math too.
both my kids are not particularly passionate about any subjects.
me and my husband do not like academic stuff too.
but we are at least disciplined enough to get what is needed to be done, done ie when i cannot inculcate passion, i inculcate responsibility. πŸ˜“
