This could be one of the most active thread here. And the results are not even out yet!

Can’t imagine the traffic here when the results are out…

When the result are out. Nobody would bother to comment anymore bcos the dust always settled. Nothing to speculate anymore and nothing look forward to anymore. Those got in already got in and those could not … well try harder in PSLE to get into your dream school.

I feel that this thread really lives up to the name of ‘kiasu parents’. I’m totally amazed and impressed by mothers who actually call up moe to ask about the date of release of results. It gives me the ‘Why didn’t I think of that?!!’ moments.

After looking at my kid’s less-than-satisfactory SA2 results, I’m at peace with myself now. Earlier on before she went for the 1st round, I told myself that I would be totally satisfied if she ever got in the 1st round. I knew the papers in the first round were already very difficult and I was very grateful when she told me she cleared the 1st round.

Just a couple of days ago, I sat her down and told her I wanted her to throw GEP out of the window becos it’s starting to bother her - she shook another tooth off in class bcos she was too nervous, thinking that her teacher was going to release the results. I told her that GEP is meant for kids who are genuinely gifted and are bored by the current lessons in school, so if she’s not bored with the lessons, then GEP is probably not for her. Plus GEP kids love Maths while she doesn’t. I think she sort of understands it better now.

I want to thank the generous parent who contributed the reading list. The books look interesting. My kid will enjoy reading them. Thanks!

sometime we put so much stress on our kids. i cannot remember myself ever being stressed for any exams. maybe time have moved on, and it is a more competitive society now. but kids are still kids, let them be kids.

This song probably reflects some of the tots of our kids.... 😢

Totally agree. When I asked my son if he was anxious about the GEP results, he said "mummy, this is only one of the many exams in my life…". I was totally stunned.
