Have heard the same, moonee but only because there's lack of space in trying to get into single session per MOE's recommendation 😛
      Oh, really?

When is it going to happen? Where is the temp location? For how long?

My P1 girl will definitely be affected.

Highly unlikely since the school has just built a multi-million dollar sports hall.

I also think it is unlikely. The new P ever told the press that the school will reduce intake to meet the single session.

As for the minor upgrading, they can always do it during mid-year or year-end holiday.

          These are only my thoughts.

Yes, the ISH is new...but the block with the (in)famous canteen; and the one with the library is really old eh? If it's major, then the month or so won't be enough right...

Really?? 😐 okay, she's in education, so can trust such press statements eh? But what about the current P4-6? Amounts to 400+ per year eh?

I sincerely HOPE it's just a rumour too...too much logistic nightmare otherwise! 😉 Thanks parents!

Oops!! I just noticed that I missed out she did say \"expand the school's infrastructure\" when I read it again.

yes moonee ; the girls do get the rain when it rains heavily...

all these are not affirmative but in anyway whatever steps they take in order to make it single session will affect the gals since reduction of intake does not seems to be possible.
the location? 😢 my heart sank when i heard... I hope MOE will allot a more realistic temporary location.

Like all of you I too hope its not true.

Darn, by 2012, I'd have DD1 - whom like yours- in P4; plus DD2 in P2. By the time they finish the work in the current site for return in 2014, our gals would be in P6! (and my 3 DDs would be in the same session 🙏 )

                      Hey friends,

Don’t need to worry/panic. “Expansion of school’s infractures”does not mean that school need to move to temporary premises. Most of the time, upgradings/expansion works for schools are quite similar to upgrading of HDB flats in a way. Expansion can be done to existing blocks to create new classrooms with construction of new blocks for classrooms and other facilities. Upgrading of existing classrooms are normally carried out during school holidays to minimise disruption. The upgrading/expansion works can be carried out with the school operating as per normal. Obviously there will be inconveniences caused (noise, dust etc) but these can be minimized and controlled. I feel the school needs to be relocated only if the whole school needs to be re-built/re-constructed or the existing structures were constructed previously in a manner which does allow for new expansion works to be carried out easily.

I'm not pressing the panic button. But I'm don't feel good with
                        1. Upgrading work being done during normal school day. The children will breath in all the dust. Even when the project (Hillcrest Villa) next to the school was carried out last few years, I felt is not very healthy for the children. Luckily it was TOP not long after the school started this year.
                        2. The holding school location is unknown and the children may have to travel further.

I really hope that her 6 yrs in RGPS will not be disrupted by all these. 🙏
