3Boys,In today's ST, SDP's Eugene Wijeysinghe says that the budget has a 'gradual move to populism.' He is concerned of a 'mindset that is willing to play politics with the nation's resources'.
This the same SDP that backed TJS on his $60bn a year expenditure at last year's GE?
When the oppo moves to the right of the PAP, something must be going right.
where in today's ST is this article ? :scratchhead:

I guess you read in wrong context liao..
And if they do something that 'feels' wrong to you and me, is that acceptable? In the name of good governance?limlim:
they don't just do what the pple tells them to do.. they \"feel\" what needs to be done.
I meant, they need to walk the ground and \"feel\" (experience) the ground.. like taking MRTs and bsues and experience what the populace experience..
not literally asking what pple feel about them ( of coz, that has to be done too but that is not my main point)
so.. I wouldn't answer the 2nd part which has too much implications.... different pple hv different views.. who is right?, very difficult.. but each of us can just voice our opinion.. -

It was saw who said that..Yah! when I saw the headline I was like HUH??!! the PAP accused of populism? wow. SDP really clutching at straws.
He never said that. It was some SMRT person.limlim:
If a minister who takes public transport regularly stands out and shout \"you can get on the bus/trains, its whether you want to\".. It will silence any critics.. no one would challenge it.. if someone who lives in ivory tower does the same thing.. prob he/she should be stoned..
But I'm just making a point.. \"IF\"..... and is not quoting a fact. -

Since a long time ago, I have already written off SDP.
Yes, as soon a style that borders on hooliganism was employed, it was off my list. -
YEs strange that the oposition would made such a comment. To me PAP is just trying to make good their promise. At least they heard and do something about it. That is what we want. We want to be heard and the gov’t to act on it.

Can we change the title to "SDP accuses"? I do not see the opposition as a group as they are not cohesive or homogeneous…
-
Wow, THE OPPOSITIONS really crazy hor, one moment wants government to tackle influx of foreigners issue, transport issue, blah blah blah, when the next budget comes and the most shouted about issues that had been raised is being addressed, THE OPPOSITIONS say it is populist view - so what are THE OPPOSITIONS really out to do?

Oops, thanks ski. Sorry, I have a tendency to beat around the bushCan we change the title to \"SDP accuses\"? I do not see the opposition as a group as they are not cohesive or homogeneous..

But I can't help thinking most Singaporeans will see it that way.
If I may add, the second part of the heading looks like something that would come straight out of MSM :siam: (you are free to think I am bias or have preconceived ideas)
