Learning things fast is giftedness. Not autism. Parroting is when they copy exactly what u said like a parrot.

Which pd did u see at CDC? It’s very odd to say its autism from u said. My boy had to satisfy a few criteria before they confirm. And that is after the psychological test.

My boy has been seeing the OT and ST for almost 2 yrs before we decided to send him to CDC. We addressed his articulation prob, poor fine motor skills, handwriting and feeding issues at the rehab before we went. They are from two different depts so u can actually see them concurrently. But rehab is not so much into identifying those with autism. They just deal with each prob u face. Now my boy’s OT session is focused on appropriate behaviour in class and ST is on social conversation. It changes as his needs change.

                  Mashy,

                  is A/Professor Daisy Chan…

she see my son for less then 10mins then she say Autism…and goes back to her sit & start to write & recommend therapies, physiologist & EPIC. & etc…

She only talk to my son once… she bring up apple & say "eat"… then she confirmed…& back to her sit…

she say"no social skill + No communication + no Imaginary play" = Autism…

I thought that sounds like a sign of a smart kid.
Get more opinions before you take his labeling as Autism as correct.

                        Helplessmum3,

My appointment with KKH CDU is on 5th March (next month). I am being referred by polyclinic since beginning of Jan. I’ve waited for around closed to two months already and i’m still waiting desperately for the appointment on 5th March to come.

My girl has no eye contact, limited speech, 50% parroting during communication, cannot sit still on the chair for even more than 3 mins and likes to wander around in the classroom. Its only when her nursery school principle told me about these signs beginning of last month, then i realised it all directed to the word autism when i googled for the symptoms her school principle mentioned to me.

I did not know anything about autism in the first place. The more i read about autism, the more panic, desperate, worried, sad and depress i became.
