All the best to you mummies.

Can’t wait for this coming week to be over…my daughter has a test on synthesis 5th march. As for my son in P6, I can only do that much. Basically it’s stuff like yu3 wen2 ying4 yong4, chinese cloze duan3 wen2 tian2 kong1 and comprehension which needs revision. Those are not my strong areas but I don’t want to stress myself over CA1.

          Hi Champion,

This recent CL test for my daughter got me all flustered...thought the assessment books I had was sufficient to last us till year end. When I couldn't find the sections which would be tested in the assessment, I got all panicky. To make things worse, I couldn't figure out what were the other sections except 短文填空,comprehension, fill in hanyu pinyin and fill in 量词. Do you have this experience ? :slapshead:

            Hi Janet,
For my P1 DD2, so far she has no tests except for CL Oral (this week) and weekly tingxie (sufficient to make me :stupid: :stupid:   :stompfeet: :frustrated: )!

For P4 DD1, I am more comfortable as the school did give a list of sections to be tested. She has the 短文填空 part too! Am revising with her those 生字 from the textbook as she has one section that requires them to write the Chinese Character words 😓

My son had this 填写汉字 (which is what you mentioned) from P1 to P4...then it was replaced by choosing the correct hanyu pinyin. He scored in the 填写汉字 section bcos I will make him memorize all the 字 in the 识写字 column. For the hanyu pinyin now, he has a problem remembering which 词语 has 'sh', 'g', 'ch'.
Yes, agree with you that it is much much easier to coach older one bcos exam format is quite standardized as compared to P1/2.

Yes, it's indeed a big headache finding suitable assessment books...esp for lower primary. At P3, there is more or less a standard exam format, so it's easier to find related assessment books.
There are several publishers now - SAP, EPH, Panpac, EPB, Victoria.
