      hi

My 1st Myanmar maid work for me 2 months, cannot take hardship and our weather here. She has rashes at night and cannot be cured even i sent her to the doctor. She is only 16 and i send her back.

My 2nd Myanmar maid is a run away from home type. She has some problem with her mother. Very bad attitude. She must sleep before 9pm even if we have visitor during CNY and scolded my children if they refused to go to bed because she cannot sleep too. I reprimanded her once for shouting at my children when they still wants to play and refused to go to bed. She was very angry and immediately wants to go back to Myanmar. I sent her back to agent instead as she only work with me for 1 month.

My suggestion is don’t take Myanmar/Burmese maid, alot of problem. My friend who tried it faced the same problem too.

Indonesian or Philipino are still better

I think there are more problematic M maids than good ones after reading feedback from this forum.

I think for burmese maids you need to choose wisely. Burma is a big country and it is formed by 7 states of very different culture and religion.

I had bad experience with Yangon maids and have since stop choosing those from Yangon. Go for some of the states further from Yangon. So far I had luck with Chin State and my current one is from Sinbo. The maids from these states have a lot better attitude and conscience. But being more remote will mean they have a lot less exposure, be prepared for steeper learning curve.

Choosing maids had a lot to do with luck too and the agency training play a big role. Some agents don’t do a good job to prepare the maids for Singapore.

I had good and bad experience with P maids. I had good ones and terrible ones. I put it down to luck again. But overall, I feel evry confortable with B maids now and will not likely consider P maids again.

Yes. Looks like a lot of problem for Burmese maid. I have got a bio of M maid that can speak Mandarin and rejected it after looking all these negative feedback. The face of M maid also look a bit stubborn. In the end still choose I maid. She is coming on early Mar. Hope it turns out well.

After getting the 1st one from Chin, I was advised to try one from nearer China border. All these are far away from Yangon. But no use. I think wisdom has nothing to do with getting suitable maids. You cannot interview them. Photos are not useful. Unless you get a transfer maid whom you can interview face to face.

a lot depend on luck, i don’t even bother to look at their past exprience and their ability unless she is ex Singapore or Hong kong. Sometime photo can be deceiving too.

I notice the young burmese maids are 16 to 19 and this is well below the legal working age of 23. I really wonder how our work permit office can issue w/ps to these burmese maids when it is so apparent that their photo submitted appears very young… I think the officers are with full knowledge and damn lazy. Why does MOM bother to state 23 as the lawful age. what a joke!!

                  CHILD LABOUR!!

The Chin state is very big and with different dialects, most of the problematic maids come from Chin. My last 2 were frm there, my past agent had the most problems with maids frm Chin state.
