2012 P1 Registration Exercise for 2013 In-Take

I am in the same position as you, with the same consideration also. My former school is also in the top ranking but is abt 7+km from my home.
I have checked with another school that is <1km from my house on the balloting history for <1km. It’s less than 50% chance of getting the place in. Can’t take the stress of being unable to ballot in. Hence, most probably we will let DS1 go to my former school. But until now, am still uncomfortable abt the distance travelled. Once the school go for single session next year or latest 2014, the school bus will be coming to fetch at 5.55am. OMG. -
Posting here because, somehow, I am unable to post new thread in the Primary School thread.
I have heard from some other parents that schools are , internally, informing parents of existing students if their schools are going single session in the later part of this year, or in 2013.
However, googling did not give me any results from MOE.
As such, will appreciate if parents of existing students from any schools who have received such notices to let us know here? Think all KS parents with kids would like to receive this earlier news for our KS planning
Moderator, pls move to the Primary school section if this is more suitable there. Thanks! -

MOE's guideline is for all schools to become single session by 2016. However, it depends on individual schools when they will start the single session. As such, will appreciate if parents of existing students from any schools who have received such notices to let us know here? Dear parent, I would be appreciated if anyone can enlighten me briefly when the phase 2C registation start for 2012 P1 Registration Exercise for 2013 In-Take? If ballotting need to carry on, do the parents need physically present at the school? Thank a lot for your reply.

dates for this year registration exercise has not been announced. going by past years, phase 2C is likely to be in august.
parents need NOT be present to witness the ballot. -
