About the booklist, given that the orientation is in late Nov, would the bookshops run out of text to sell? :? Any idea where to get booklist in advance? Maybe Tankee can help?

Dun worry abt the book list, last yr end when i'm getting my girl's P2 books, we got everything from popular bookstore (end up paying cheaper than what was quoted from the school bookshop. So you get to shop for books at a cheaper rate and no need to queue for ages...plus u get to enjoy Popular bookshop aircon hehe

Heard from a friend that a bowl of noodle cost $0.70 so the kids need about $2 for pocket money! Also, the class are separated based on month of birth, that is why they have 12 classes.


I wonder typically how much parents give to their primary school children.

I'm giving my girl $1.20 per day. and she still gets to save $0.10 or $0.20 everyday. I have 3 kids, 1 already in Taonan P2 this yr, and 1 going to Taonan P1 next yr (so i'll see some of you during Orientation, maybe we can arrange a meeting point for kiasuparents forum members to meetup hehe)

You should get the booklist during orientation for P1 and normally parents skip the talk to queue up for books / uniforms (true spirit of kiasuism!!! )

Hi Lucky, i got the orientation letter some time back. But i dun think you'll know which class your kid is posted to untill the day of orientation.

I just called up TNS general office and the administrator told me that they are still in the midst of preparing the orientation letter to be sent out. So I am surprised that wa_si_kiasu_lau_peh already got the letter. Is your letter via the elder child currently stuying in TNS ?

oops, yes sorry that is correct. I have an elder daughter studying in Taonan and i got the letter from her.
