Sorry to hear that... yes, you're right, I went at 2.30pm on Day 1 and ours was the 162 application. That's why I was surprised to see on MOE's website that only 53 had registered for Day 1... I suppose many parents who went on Day 2 thinking that they had a good chance actually might have gotten a rude shock!
Why Innova is so popular this year??? :!: Can share with me??? Anyone heard of how to do Parent Volunteer in Innova primary school??? -
VT:
Maybe ppl dowan Marsiling becoz got Fuchun nearby.Laughing-Hyena:
Yes, thanks, School informed that 35 (within 1-2km) willl ballot for 18 places on 11 Aug 09 at 9am. So it's a 50-50 thing.
Same fate with me...Fuchun..1-2km...21 ppl eyeing for 9 places..42% chance... where else can we go if we can't get in? hmm...Why not many ppl going to Marsiling, Si Ling & QiHua...
Maybe ppl dowan Si Ling becoz got Woodgrove nearby.
Maybe ppl dowan Qihua becoz got Evergreen nearby.
JMHO. -
Wish there were not so many days between the end of Phase 2C and the balloting on 11 Aug... it's the uncertainty that bothers us... either way (in or out), it's better to have the issue settled quick, so that the next step (if necessary) can be formulated! Aaargh... I hate waiting...

From last I know, Evergreen was highly recommended for its quality of teachers.... Too bad, i am going to shift from right in front of them to btw 1-2km.
So now, I have to concentrate on Greenwood and Admiralty instead. Anyone has any comments which is better in terms of character development and quality teachers? I am not too concern on their academic achievements.
Though I have heard that Admiralty produces good PSLE results... but wonder if their cirriculum is too stressed for my children.
Appreciate any inputs!!!

I am thinking of registering my son for Greenwood Primary School. I am staying less than 1 km away from school. Do you think I still need to do PV or risk balloting?berriejam:
my HB's school closed down already, myself was from a neighbourhood school that is way too far for us to travel now. I am very willing to do PV work, but my only worry is it will all be fruitless if end up balloting in the end.
You should first get an idea of what primary schools are near you, and then find out more about them. The schools will normally hold open houses in June or July... that's when you can go find out more about them.
Unfortunately, most of the popular schools are in the south or east of singapore. Off the top of my head, the better schools in the north in order of preference are:

Surely you can find some in the list that are close to you. -

Hi stardust_sq!
Have you checked the balloting history. If you want to be certain, you should, of course, take the PV route. It depends on your risk appetite.
By the way, for a start, you may like to report at the http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewforum.php?f=28 thread? -

From my personal research, findings below:
Top choices: Evergreen, Woodgrove, FuChun
2nd Choices: Admiralty, Woodlands Ring, Woodlands
3rd Choices: Qihua, Si Ling
Last Choices: Marsiling
List the schools that is 2km radius from your house.
Rank by convenience of transport. May be that helps to round up
your preferred choices. Then do research in depth for your Top 3. :celebrate: -
If you are near to Admiralty or Evergreen, going in via PV has quite high chances.
