The books in science heuristic costs $37.50/- each. They have two science book.

Thanks for sharing,i understand they're selling them at the centre.Wonder anyone has the books, are they worth buying?

I borrowed the books from NLB. If you would like to 'see-see look-look' first, I suggest you borrow from NLB as I feel that $37.50 for 1 book is a lot of money. After that, if you find that the book is worth buying, then maybe you can get one. 🙂

          You're most welcome 🙂
The last time I borrowed was from Marine Parade Lib. You may check their online catalogue @NLB website as the books may 'move around' from one lib to another.

My daughter didn’t use Mind Stretcher. You can have a try with beestar which we have been using.

The program is full of all real life world problems, challenging stuff to help kids thinking - some of them make my daughter think or is a great opportunity for me to teach advanced concepts. I think it is nice and easy to use.

                    Hi G Tan,

May I know what is the difference between concept map & mindmap? I'm a bit confused. Thanks

                    G Tan:
I also think that concept map may not be veyr useful for some kids, but mindmap is more useful for some kids.

My kids started going to Tinkerlab at upper serangoon this year. This is after their science tutor decided not to continue with them after 1 year. He is a school teacher.

The tutor used to complain about my P3 ds (now p4). So probably a change is good for him as well. My P4 seems to enjoy himself at tinkerlab as they do hands on experiments and teacher taught them to answer exam questions as well. They are also given tasks to explore on the internet on life cycles of insects so that registers better. So he sort of prefers his lessons in tinkerlab and it interesting.

For CA1, he did mid 70’s for science. I thought was not too bad as at least it didn’t drop from P3 and also he has been with tinkerlab for coming to 1 term only. Hopefully he will benefit more as time passes by and we can see that reflected in the results.

I think mind map is more helpful than concept maps. Concept map just involved words linking all the concepts together.. Mind map is more visual in the sense that u can include drawings and diagrams to make a child understand better.
