MOE Relooking P1 registration - Too much priority to alumni
-
Ultimately whatever changes it is, hope the authority can look from all aspects & do think of ways to eliminate those who went in using fake addresses & their 2nd/3rd or more kids benefits from these one time act

Even the sch just right behind my Plc which I be under phase 2C within 1 km there's ridiculous ballot ratio coz so many ppls using their parents, relatives, rental addresses though they not staying there
Now the question is how to sieve out the fakes or black sheep?
Or rather targetting those register with the school using rented property (not a true case of those who really needs financial assistance) to be put on queue? Just an idea to throw around. No harm intention. -

Gd pt too. This will need the moe to get their team to look into this. But it's really a touchy & difficult task.nlimm:

Actually I don't think those who got rented property really in financial problem coz those plcs rental fee r quite high eg ard st nic, chs, Nyps, rgps , Henry park ,pei hwa and more . If this pool really have financial propert shdnt they be renting units there's much cheaper at other area?
With ur suggestion, that be 1km,1-2km, outside 2km then rented property?
For prime area? Then those with real financial prob families staying at towns like woodland , jw, sembawang , Pasir Ris etc & within the required distance won't be affected?
Seems like as discussions goes on, more & more loopholes appear...
( Note: I'm not targetting on anyone here, just very general comments & suggestions) -
Have been following through this thread , suddenly a thought
came across , those who against alumni , may be they are not bred Singaporeans ,
And those who against phrase 1 , are they not local too as I understand most of us who also have sibling before or after us who was once benefitted from phrase 1 too .
I am not against non local KS parents here but do spare a thought for true Singapore parents who want their best for their kids so they can be able to fight for a place in local university with the non local breed Singaporean kids ! -

I don't like phrase 2 on \"alumni, volunteers\"... so does that mean I am a non-local?
Why studying in Primary school got so many terms to enroll into school of my choice for my kid? After all not that I did not pay school fees. -

Nothing wrong with one wanting to enroll child into their school of \"choice\" but problem is, there are too many people, all also willing to pay school fees, having the same \"choice\"! :imconstipated:
