I was browsing through the 2012 GIRO Deduction Schedule and just realised........ TODAY is the day of deduction of school fees (3 months) & supplementary fees ( 1 semester). :moneyflies: :moneyflies: :moneyflies:

If have EESIS, :moneyflies: :moneyflies: not so heart pain. If don't have, wallet very very pain. Btw for those who do not qualify for EESIS after PSLE, i just learnt that there is another chance in end Secondary 2! It's called Edusave Scholarships for Integrated Programme Schools (ESIP)- same quantum at $2400 and from Year 3 till Jc2 (4years)

Quoting from MOE website: 'The EESIS are awarded up to the top one-third of the total number of Secondary One pupils admitted to all Independent Schools (IS), based on their PSLE results.
The EESIS is also awarded to P6 GEP pupils who are Singapore Citizens and who meet the P6 GEP promotion criteria, and are enrolled in the IP in an Independent School at S1.'

I am assuming that you are a P6 student and non GEP. If so, based on above first para, so long as you meet their criteria, you will get EESIS. No mention of DSA. As the para is vague (what is top 1/3?), some resourceful and smart aunties and uncles in KSP have found out that past 2 years EESIS COP is ard 260 and has worked out that it translates to ard top 3% of the PSLE cohort All the best to you!

EESIS is not Affected by DSA.
If the PSLE Score is amongst Top 1/3 in IS, EESIS Will be Awarded, Regardless of DSA, or Not.

Just stopping by - usually we get day offs for outstanding As and sports/syf achievements. Which seems to be every year haha last year we had two days off. Oh and the day off for A level results is coordinated with RI:P

Hello, forgive me for the sudden change in topic.

so here it goes…
after a month of cca, i find my child struggling between her cca and her studies. shes in a sport cca. i was just wondering if it is possible for her to change cca during this point of time.

How is your dd struggling? Is she having problems with time management? I don't know if she can change her CCA now. She can switch CCAs at the end of Year 1 by going for trials/auditions then.

Is She Training to compete in Sch Team? If So, could be Very Xiong Physically, and Time Wise with increased periods of training. Maybe U could contact the T-in-charge to voice your concern, And Not train for competition, if that is the Case.

If it is Time Management, switching to other CCA Still Require to Spend 2 afternoons per Week, typically, on CCA activities.
Does Not Mean Less Work.
For Example, My Gal's Classmate in Debate Club has to Do preparation for Debate Topics Every week prior to going for CCA ....
But of Course it's Less Taxing Physically.

If your concern is with your gal sleeping Late -
It is Not Uncommon for our Gals to go to Bed ....
Early in the Morning = After Mid-Nite .
Mine Does .... On Almost every Nite.
It's a Matter of adjusting and Managing their time ....

If U R still firm on Switching CCA, Suggest U could Contact the HOD in Charge of CCA to voice your Concern and explore possible Solution.
Since it's still Early Days, and your Gal has been Attending the current CCA for Less than a Month.

I always wonder what percentage of her sleeping late habit is due to RGS culture and what percentage is owing to their teenage years ( some say teenage brains are not structured to sleep early??!!)

Haahaa...That's interesting.
Didn't know of the saying that teenage brains are wired to sleep late.

DD's bedtime is generally between 10 and 10.30pm.
She used to sleep at 9.30pm at P6, but that's quite impossible this year with her CCA training and homework load.

Oh, if i can sleep at 10.30pm(unless it's a friday)i would be like WOOOHOO! I'm not sure why, but i know most of my friends stay up very late too. Whether it's homework or assignment, revision(not enough time for homework already...><)or just don't want to sleep, it seems like i've been sleeping later and later these days too.

Now it's more like a norm, as in even during holidays or weekends my body is already adjusted to sleeping at 12am or 1.30am(i don't do this on weekdays!)so i sleep around that time too. But can wake up later so it's fine:)
