All can relac for a week...bfore Term 2 begins..

DS receive a homework list and one of the homework includes journal entry title \"How i spent my Mar holidays!\"

He came to me and ask me if i am taking leave next week. I told him no and he replied \"how do i write my journal? Can you take leave next week?\".

      😓

Alamak.. no need to take leave... can do it over the weekend.. or at night when you are home?

My boy also has to do journal, can't remember the topic .. hehe..

Feel like ranting... I wonder why schools like to ask children to write journals for homework? Not much value-add hmmm. If it's to get kids used to writing, they might as well teach writing properly! I'm tired of reading primer language in my dd's journal arrgghhhh!!! I would rather not start my kids on writing until they have the essential vocabulary, grammar structure etc, PLUS the maturity and enough life experiences to write properly... Maybe wait until higher primary hahahahahaha.

Feeling a bit sian today

          I also feel like ranting.

Why do teachers feel that they need to load the kids up with homework during this 1 week break? Isn't it suppose to be a break?

            Ok this one not ranting.

I actually like journal writing. My kiddos have been writing journals since they were in kindy. It is a good way to get them to pen down their thoughts or start writing without the pressure of it being graded for proper sentence structure, spelling, grammar, etc.

                Haha. My biggest \"WHYYYY???\"

Whyyyyyy must their homework involve art or craft work???? Don't they know that there are families with no, zero, zilch, nada, artistic inkling and are all thumbs when it comes to crafts? And it is genetic, that means the kids will have nothing remotely near to a single artistic cell.

Yeah, that describes my ds1. Four years of art class and he still draws stick figures!

So I’m happy we don’t have art homework this time, ha!

He is soft spoken boy. Now I got to train he read out loud and see how is he.

                    Welcome on baord..

Ya, maybe he is shy.. 😄

Last year he attended phonics, the teacher commented that he can read out. But come to another teacher teaching english this year, she commented that he refused to open the mouth. Then this chinese teacher also has this problem. Maybe because the phonics teacher is fierce enough to make him open his mouth.

Ya one week holiday also have quite a few homework too. For me rather let him has homework. If not he will play PS3 or Ipad during the daytime.
