Exciting feeling...it's like lucky draw....
Just a reminder. Porbably from next year 2013 onwards, Nan Chiau Primary will be converted in to single sessions. Take up rate will be lesser. -

Take up rate will still maintain 300 as this is what i read from online news(cannot remember the date) and confirm by huay kuan.Just that do expect to ballot at <1km for phrase 2b though from next year onwards cos by then the new flats near to anchorvale cc are ready. Plus when i fetch my girl from school , wow i see a lot of parents with their younger children mostly 4 or 5 years old while waiting for the school children to dismiss.Lshawn:

Hi everyone,
Am new to this thread. I’ve got a boy turning 3 and a baby girl turning 1 this yr. Being Catholics, we would love that they attend catholic schs.
We hope that boy can get into SJI junior n girl into CHIJ (hopefully St nic).
We are also planning to shift becos of this, currently staying in the west. Both my husband, myself n the kids are baptized.
Am wondering if this will qualify us for registration under phase 2B?
Do we still need to do parent volunteer? Need to stay within 1km?
Seriously feel that the registration process does not make sense in a lot of ways but the fact that it is so, we’ll have to stress along with it. -
Can I check with those parents who got into Mee Toh with a referral letter from Buddhist lodge. Does it mean that once we have letter, we will sure be able to get a place in phase 2B assuming no ballot? Are there cases where we have the letter but not eligible to register under phase 2B coz due to some other criteria required? Coz I called the school to ask and they told me that the Board will decide. But the person was unable to tell me more details.
Appreciate advise from experienced mums.... Thank you.

Baptized Catholics can register under Phase 2B (same as PVs) at all Catholic schools, at least for now. Let's hope the MOE doesn't change this. So you don't need to PV actually.Hi everyone,

Your boy has a higher chance getting in to SJI Jr at Phase 2B, even if you live more than 2km away (perhaps some mild balloting if any). As for CHIJ St Nicholas, all who register at Phase 2B and Phase 2C must stay within 1km. And despite staying within 1km, you will have a very slim chance at the balloting. Balloting at St Nic's is for the very brave as you could end up with nothing good in the end. It's a risk to take.
And yes, all PVs must stay within 1km to even apply as a PV at St Nicholas. -

Thanks, Cherrygal!
So glad to hear that more than 2pm from SJIjr still got chance. Hope it remains so when it's my turn to register.
Looks like St nic is out of the question d. Am not brave enough. Haha.
How about the chances for CHIJ (toapayoh)? -
CHIJ TP is easier to get in, esp if you live within 2km. Chances are similar to SJI Jr if you look at the balloting history. If you target both these schools, the best place to move to would be novena or balestier area.

Hi All,
I need some advices here.I was once a student from ai tong, but due to I had move to yishun, then I was transfer out from ai tong when I was pri 3 by my parents as they prefer I study nearby.Question is , if I gonna to enrol my son next time back to ai tong , will there be any difficulties? But I staying in Yishun that maybe difficult as it is outside 2km already? Another althernative is since I am staying < 1km from Chong Fu, I am considering that option too.
For registration in chong fu,
1) Do I need to take part in PV in order to secure a place since I stay <1km ?
Which phase should I be under ?
2) If I got 2 SHHK memmbers to recommend, do I still require to be a SHHK member ? -

it is always better to be a phase up (to have more chances of securing a place) so doing pv is a good idea. so if you fail in 2b, you can try 2c.
yes, you still need to join the clan in order to get the recommendation letter. but there is no guarantee once you join, you can 100% get the letter because the clan has its own set of guidelines wrt the distribution of the letter.
