All About A Levels

Phankao,
NJC is boring? Not from what my boy is doing it seems! It's really play hard and still need to work hard also. But he's not in JC section yet.take_that:
I recommend AJC. It's true that NJC is a better JC but don't waste your time getting to school everyday.
Honestly, AJ is quite a boring school. NJ and AJ both are, but I've only been to one so I can't tell you which is more boring.
But AJ is not a bad choice if you live nearby, besides you might have better chances of winning scholarships, topping the exams etc in AJ than in NJ.
AJC boring? It might seem so. My girl has fun there with her CCA though. But academics is really tough. They really set the bar high.
I would personally go for the distance. Closer better. For us, can walk to the school. But for the boy - NJC's very full-programme is really his cup-of-tea.
Yr girl is in AJC ah?
Pls share with us life in AJC like teachers, students types and u know how did sch perform for its 'A' levels ?
-% of distinctions for 3 H2....
Tks. -

I wish I knew. It's not on the school website, and my girl says she doesn't know. So, unless I ask the teachers/school......

Well, it's a good JC after the Top-tier JCs (eg. RI, HCI, NJC, VJC, which most students who've not taken Higher Mother Tongue at O-levels will find difficulty getting into.). It's not necessarily for students of humble backgrounds.

phankao:
Ya, it is one of the top 2-3 JCs in the second tier.

NJC, although the distance is further, that should not be your primary consideration. The folks i know at NJC now have many activities and worry about no time to do their tutorials! My L1R5 is 7 points with only 2 bonus cca points, making it 5 points.
Now i wonder if i should get into NJC or AJC.
Whether you feel outcast or not is how you make of it, if u take the effort to know more friends and join more activities, you will not feel this way. It has no feeder school like ACJC, therefore the culture is self-created. I observed that the IP and non-IP students mix around without the perception of being elite. -
Crester:
If u have the discipline to do your tutorials and projects, then it really doesn't matter. ACJC has a more \"happening\" environment, a culture that is largely due to the feeder sch such as ACS & MGS, which gives the perception of being \"atas\". One can still be humble in ACJC. Tough call on which to go for, but I will probably go for AJC
May I know if ACJC or AJC is better?
COP for ACJC is 6 while AJC IS 8.
But there's affiliation point for ACJC ,that's why it's COP is 6.
AJC has a more humble sch culture compared to ACJC. Any feedback abt these 2 JC?

In every rat race, there will be winners as well as losers.
If everyone is a winner who will be the losers.
Society naturally works and functions in a hierachical structure.
Society still needs cooks, drivers, road sweepers and toilet cleaners.
Leave things to chance and let it decide; let nature takes its course. -

No good parents will let nature takes its own course for their children's future. That is why KS parents are concerns about their children's results. In every rat race, there will be winners as well as losers.

No good government will let nature takes its own course for the lower class society. That is ensure social mobility is important, not for the adults, but for children from all but especially underprivilleged family.
No good human will let nature takes its own course for its mankind, this is why there are people response to humanitarian movements, helping people in other countries that were not related to us by blood or nationality.
We hope everybody in society can move forward. We do not need cooks, drivers, road sweepers and toilet cleaners for the seek of needing them (by the way, they are not failures). What we need are food, transportation and clean environment. Society and technology advances will help hunman to move forward.
When I was a kid in kampong, there is a truck with 36 doors, with uncles who collected the faeces bin. The uncles were respected, but the adults would tell their children ,\"if you do not study hard, you will have to collect faeces in future.\". The children did hear and work hard. Many did well in education. For those who did not do well, they still have to strive for there is no such 36-door trucks nowadays.
If your children are not doing well, do you leave it to chance? Some do, some don't. People who do, move the world forward.
Those who do his best, even if end up in the 100th, 1000th or 10,000th position, is a winner in his own way. -
NJC definitely not all studies… tt’s just a stereotype. my girl studies there and she have a wide social circle. it all depends on your attitude!
