Hi every1, I would like to know if the helper says she wants togo back to agent n still ve 3-4 mths loan do i get back the loan $$$ n can i cancel the WP if the agent do not get employer for the helper within the 1-2 weeks or do i jus cancel it upon sending her to the agent? i do not want any replacement n do i send d helper back to the agent or wait for the agent to call (believed they will nvr call jus like the previous incident) i had to pester them every two days then action r done, pls advise...really sleepless night for a week liao...
You will have to check with your agent if a refund is possible if you don't want to get another maid from them. As for cancelling the maid's WP, you can't do it cos after cancelling it, she has to return back to her home country which will definitely result in your losing the rest of the loan. -
I jus called the $ sucker agent, refused to talk to the helper…called her crazy woman…I talked to my helper told her wat i can do is called the other agent if she really not interested to work in my hse but she claimed she wanted to work but not happy to see my black face on sunday which she did something to make me unhappy told her off to correct her mistake n that she say not happy to see my black face if i jus bring her to agent wat is the consequence will they jus take her back or i need to bring a time bomb home again…very worried…i ve yet told her that i caught her wandering off during the day when my kids are in sch n using my girl’s hp amounting to high bills …wat shd i do v v headache!

What a headache for you and family.
I would first scrutinize the contract/ agreement first, particularly the clauses related to termination of service and loan refund…check if there is a pro-rated loan refund if maid hasn’t paid off the loan during the first 7/8 months, whether you have to pay any food and lodging while maid is out of your house…I’ve never allowed any of my previous maids to be transferred, would rather send them back since they don’t intend to take their jobs seriously. Also didn’t want agent to pocket more fees and let another employer suffer.
Once you know exactly where you stand, be firm in your negotiation with the agent.
Is your maid agent accredited? Find out which accredition body it is associated with, get your facts and documents ready and lodge a complaint. Bear in mind the maid can also complain about you abusing her and run to embassy to get sympathy so be careful.
In the meantime, look for part-time local help if necessary, and immediately begin your search for another full-time helper (through a better agent of course) if you feel you really need one. It will take months before maid arrives. My Indo-helper took 4 months to arrive despite starting my search after booking air tic for ex-maid .I recall it was during the Ramadan so no maids wanted to come to Singapore. -

Even if you have no choice and have to pay for food and lodging for the maid, do so…After all, she won’t have the mood to work for you and may even run away. Get the maid out of your home first and let agent be responsible for her…think about your family’s safety (if maid doesn’t get her way, may try to hold young kids at ransom) and property (she may feel frustrated and intentionally damage the things at your house). Remember to check all her luggage just before she leaves your home. In the meantime, don’t let her out of your sight or house, and keep vulnerable members away from her. An acquaintance found some of her belongings stashed in a plastic bag inside a bush right outside her house. Apparently, maid had stolen the things and probably arranged for another maid friend living nearby to keep the stuff for her to retrieve on off day. -

our mentality working also like that de. if boss face black to me, will affect my face black too.
u can keep ur ger’s hp and tell her nicely, u have to pay money for the house too and ur pay is limited. if she dun work, she can’t save money to spend too.
Since she is going away when ur girls are in school, i think she is just too used to freedom. My ex-maid used to be like that, but i had her promise every now and then to make sure she do the housework, take care of my kid and value her body, not to let men take advantage of her.
my current maid is more of an introvert, not much friends but face is mostly black black. But she do the housework very fast and well. -

Typically, u will get back the leftover loan - the cost of the days the maid gets to be transfer (if 10 days then 10 X $10)- an admin fee

as what the others has advised, pls read thro your contract with the maid agency. some do not allow a refund unless you get a replacement maid or the maid has worked with you for a stipulated period. do not just cancel the WP, u will lose your outstanding loan amount. if u can't stand your maid, i advise you to send her back agency rather than you get a heart attack (in case she did more things to anger you)
yes you will still need to pay for her levy for 3 or 4 weeks (different agency have different timeframe) if say by this 3-4 weeks, she has not find a new employer. agency will not do anything unless is the employer who constantly follow up with them.
my personal thoughts, i will rather get a totally fresh NEW maid than those with experience in HK, Saudi, MY or SG. Yes, need to be very very very patient with totally NEW maid but at least their attitude will not be bad as those so called \"experienced\" maids.... -

Peace, does your agency starts with sxxxxxxxe? My maid from that agency also has attitude problem, somemore she is totally 'fresh' maid, never work anywhere as maid before. Suddenly she dropped the bomb yest morning to declare that yest was the last day of her loan and she is not going to work anymore! Before this, around 1 month before, the agent has told her her last day is supposed to be 31 Mar and she did not questioned it, now she suddenly dropped this bomb and when we asked her to talk to the agent, she hanged up the phone immediately and said when she goes back to her country, she wants to get lawyer to sue agent... Haiz...right from the start, she insisted agent never tell her properly, she seemed like victim like dat...sianz...only after another agent talked to her nicely, then she agreed to work till mid apr till our replacement comes..
vivienpg, my last agent is that agency!! gave me lotsa headache, as they insists that I have to pay termination fee of $400 becos i didnt want a replacement maid... and this is though it was the maid who committed theft by stealing my hub's ciggies and smoked within 1.5mths with us!
its not our fault but since its the 4th maid in a year, we wanted to do away without maid first... but this agent insists on the termination fee. they are the ones who gave this lousy maid (ex sg somemore) and the boss of the agency can even tell us... she transfer to new employer no complaints... i was like :stompfeet: ... HARLOW? it doesn't change the fact that they gave me a maid who stole and smoked!!!
when we negotiated with them... saying that we intend to hire, just probably past the 1yr mark of our first change of maid... the boss refuses.. says must charge termination fee. when we questioned her, saying that what if we hire after that 1year mark, are you going to charge me another agency fee... she can still reply YES!! isn't this robbery?????
This is 1 of the worst agencies i've encountered!! And till now, I'm still waiting for the refund, even though i'm w/o maid for 2mths... :rant:
And anyway, i've resolved not to hire maids again... unless really really bo pian (i.e. if i have another child)... but until then, i shall remain maid free... -
just realised that my maid who left recently has been vacumming the floor without inserting the vacuum cleaner bag! She threw away the bag when it was full but didnt bother to put in a new one. now vacuum cleaner kaput! Will the govt compensate me? after all their pro-maid policies?!

Hi thanks every1 for d support n advices. I managed to talk to d lady agent she promised to come over to collect d helper. Thus countdown 4 me n i’ll b maidless intend to put kids in after sch care keeping my fingers crossed tat my kids will adjust to all these changes…n me will forgo sleeping hours…at least I exchange back our freedom n ease of mind…meanwhile stock kids stuff for them to bring to care ctr…any reviews or feedback re after schoolcare pls share wif me thanks in advance…
