      ctct61t:

STTA zone centres: Bishan, Clementi, Tampines, Yishun sports hall only offer course who below age 7.

You have to drop by at one of the zone centre and talk to one of the coaches there (clementi currently is undergoing renovation). All centres take in as young as K1/2 up to P1, latest mid P2. After, there is 0% chance of getting in as some of the potential kids at P3 will be infused into the National Youth Squads.

The zone centres act as 'feeder scheme' for outstanding members to be infused into the National Youth Squads. Toa Payoh also provides enrichment training on weekends or school holidays. These programmes are different from the above.

If you want to know more, just call STTA @6354-1014

I called STTA. The person answering the call mentioned “Learn-To-Play” (a 10 sessions programme). This programme does not seem like what was mentioned above? Could anyone share further details ... e.g., do they take in beginners? how long and how many training sessions a week? ... Thanks.

Bring your child down during the training session and talk to one of the coaches there. Always quote \"Zone Training Centre\" when you make enquiry. This is a systematic programme that will train you child to be a better Table Tennis player, and if they are good will be promoted to youth development squad, youth team and finally national team. See \"Youth Development\" in STTA website.

Buying a table putting at home is not gonna help, adding a robot in won’t help much either. She can’t play table tennis by herself. If she’s really interested, get her a coach.

Hi ctct61t , get her a school with Table Tennis school team, not CCA. CCA is generally for fun, the coaches will not have sufficient time, equipment and culture to train the kids well. I coach a few CCA in table tennis, that’s why I know.

“Learn-To-Play” (a 10 sessions programme) is just an introduction to what is Table Tennis. It’s not an ongoing course whereas zone centres are providing ongoing training course for kids and finally filtering the better players to youth group. Not much vacancies available now.

For benefits of parents who wish their kid(s) to start off with something, I propose
to have a group session training for kids in Bishan Sports Hall.

It can be any 2 days or the full 5 days on weekdays depending how many are interested. Number of coaches will also based on participation level.

Say timing at 2 - 4pm. Fees from $100 onwards.

You can just leave your ID here and I’ll see how many are interested.

              2)
              3)
              4)

My girl for some strange reason, likes to play badminton. However, school don't have badminton as eca. Next best thing was to let her join ping pong.

Anyone kids playing ping pong too? good sport or no?
                Nice idea for your child.
Pingpong, not like other sports, not easily hurt her body. Meanwhile, playing pingpong build up her body and simulus her interest in sport.

                  Hey guys,

Anyone know of any serious table tennis trainings? I know how to play but I do not want to just play it casually. I really want to learn it more professionally and become a competitive player and go for university competition. I want a systematic training with experienced coach.

Anybody knows of any good training center or coach in Singapore please do tell me. I am looking for coaches that focus on skill teaching and tactics, NOT just merely playing with others for fun. I can always book a table to play with others, thus i do not need it.

If you have a passion for table tennis and is currently training and feels that your training is good, do tell me and we can train together.

Please do leave your contact number too if you want contact me and explain to me in detail on trainings. If you do not want to let everyone see your number, just drop me a private message and i will get back to you.

For coaches, please also tell me about your experience, coaching rate and class size and training locations. Prefer reputable coaches registered with Singapore Sports Council.

Coaches from China are welcomed too (Some of them are quite good). As long as i can improve, i am in for it.

                  Thank you!
