      vivienpg:
Peace, does your agency starts with sxxxxxxxe? My maid from that agency also has attitude problem, somemore she is totally 'fresh' maid, never work anywhere as maid before. Suddenly she dropped the bomb yest morning to declare that yest was the last day of her loan and she is not going to work anymore! Before this, around 1 month before, the agent has told her her last day is supposed to be 31 Mar and she did not questioned it, now she suddenly dropped this bomb and when we asked her to talk to the agent, she hanged up the phone immediately and said when she goes back to her country, she wants to get lawyer to sue agent... Haiz...right from the start, she insisted agent never tell her properly, she seemed like victim like dat...sianz...only after another agent talked to her nicely, then she agreed to work till mid apr till our replacement comes..

vivienpg, my last agent is that agency!! gave me lotsa headache, as they insists that I have to pay termination fee of $400 becos i didnt want a replacement maid... and this is though it was the maid who committed theft by stealing my hub's ciggies and smoked within 1.5mths with us!

its not our fault but since its the 4th maid in a year, we wanted to do away without maid first... but this agent insists on the termination fee. they are the ones who gave this lousy maid (ex sg somemore) and the boss of the agency can even tell us... she transfer to new employer no complaints... i was like :stompfeet: ... HARLOW? it doesn't change the fact that they gave me a maid who stole and smoked!!!

when we negotiated with them... saying that we intend to hire, just probably past the 1yr mark of our first change of maid... the boss refuses.. says must charge termination fee. when we questioned her, saying that what if we hire after that 1year mark, are you going to charge me another agency fee... she can still reply YES!! isn't this robbery?????

This is 1 of the worst agencies i've encountered!! And till now, I'm still waiting for the refund, even though i'm w/o maid for 2mths...

And anyway, i've resolved not to hire maids again... unless really really bo pian (i.e. if i have another child)... but until then, i shall remain maid free...

my personal thoughts, i will rather get a totally fresh NEW maid than those with experience in HK, Saudi, MY or SG. Yes, need to be very very very patient with totally NEW maid but at least their attitude will not be bad as those so called \"experienced\" maids....

Agree with Princess_n_Prince_T! Currently I have an ex-sg Indo maid... I can still tolerate those without experience and have more patience teaching them/reminding them what to do... this ex-maid, act blur after hiring... sending her back to agent end Apr; new one coming too :xedfingers:

I personally feel different household required different type of maid.

I personally prefer ex-sg, which work for one family for 4 years & above. I feel they don’t required much training and is able to take instruction well. I don’t mind they are more demanding and paying them slightly more for their experience. Mostly, this type of maid are more independence and required minimum training. And I prefer to interview the maid face to face so that I can see from their body language and judge them accordingly.

                My best 2 ex-maid are ex-Malaysia and ex-sg.

As I am a FTWM, I don’t have the luxury to take leave to train the maid. If I am a SAHM, I think I don’t mind taking fresh maid.

I changed my maid 2 months ago in haste and took anyone that is available, theres was only one maid on transfer but I did not get to see her, she was a 2 times transfer maid and will be 49 years old in a months time. I thought any one with two hands and legs could do house work but this one literally messes up my home, loose my clothes and throw away anything she does not think we want…

She told me she was in spore 20 yrs ago and still think she can buy a phone card at a dollar… worked in saudi for 3 yrs and was like a sex slave there.
Her brain has deteriorated greatly and she cant see well and cant remembr where she packed my things.
My advice isnot to take anyone too old especially in their 40s.

                    hi hi

my new maid will be arriving next week. She’s ex-Saudi. She was there for two years. She’s a divorcee with one kid and 33 yrs old.

This is the very first time i’m employing a maid. Could anyone pls share with me what should i let her do on the first day at home?

Her primary role is to jaga my two kids (pri 1 & pre-nursery), prepare their meals and housekeeping.

                    Thanks

it would be good to give her a set of rules. like no bringing friends to ur house, generally what will spoil your relationship with her. caution her against going out in the dark as there was a case where the maid was raped by a security guard (beast!).

gif her a timetable of what you want her to do.

if u want, pm me ur email, i can email u my version. Then u use google translate to her language.

                      Good luck!

My maid is in mid forties. Her memory is still very good. I depend on her to locate my stuff  As for her eyesight: I bought her a cheap pair of reading glasses. Other than that, her eyesight is still ok.
