it would be good to give her a set of rules. like no bringing friends to ur house, generally what will spoil your relationship with her. caution her against going out in the dark as there was a case where the maid was raped by a security guard (beast!).hi hi
my new maid will be arriving next week. She's ex-Saudi. She was there for two years. She's a divorcee with one kid and 33 yrs old.
This is the very first time i'm employing a maid. Could anyone pls share with me what should i let her do on the first day at home?
Her primary role is to jaga my two kids (pri 1 & pre-nursery), prepare their meals and housekeeping.
Thanks

My maid is in mid forties. Her memory is still very good. I depend on her to locate my stuff  As for her eyesight: I bought her a cheap pair of reading glasses. Other than that, her eyesight is still ok.I changed my maid 2 months ago in haste and took anyone that is available, theres was only one maid on transfer but I did not get to see her, she was a 2 times transfer maid and will be 49 years old in a months time. I thought any one with two hands and legs could do house work but this one literally messes up my home, loose my clothes and throw away anything she does not think we want...
She told me she was in spore 20 yrs ago and still think she can buy a phone card at a dollar.... worked in saudi for 3 yrs and was like a sex slave there.
Her brain has deteriorated greatly and she cant see well and cant remembr where she packed my things.
My advice isnot to take anyone too old especially in their 40s. -

mine was given a pair of prescription glasses by the last employer, she refuse to use it... 2nd employer gave up on her after 15 days, I know mine is an exception as Ive seen other maids in their 40s with normal mentality. Her sister wants her home and is worried she will cause problems for employers. Ex saudi maids can be rather dirty and the life style there is totally different frm spore. -

40s is old?! Then I had better start looking at retiring
It will depend from person to person. Don't write someone off just because they are a little bit older. -

But my ex-maid, I bought her some t-shirts, shorts etc. She never wore them. Instead she sent them back home to her relatives. :faint: -

Can you kindly elaborate on the work like a sex slave part. Too much sex caused her brain to deteriorate?I changed my maid 2 month

we are not old in our 40s but most maids are considered as old when they are in late 20s or 30s. They have a different life style where they come frm and some hv lost their strength and their body aches, this does nt apply to all, my sis recently took one that is 41 and shes been working since 18, shes a good cook and rather strong.
Im most compassionate to keep my current maid for the past 2 half months when 2 other employers found her too slow and have a weird personality, this maid cant look after herself neither can she handle housework, Ive tried my best to keep her but have no chice but to let go... I don't write someone off just becos they are a little older or else I would not hv considered my 48 years old maid in the first place. Gonna interview another that is in her early 40s altho Ive been advised not to take older maids. I understand the maximum age is 50 for maids and MOM does not approve fresh maids at 49. -

Ha Ha, mine was in saudi till last year, came back with one tooth missing. Her employer is in her 40s and her husband passed off, my maid tho working for one emplyer had to handle 4 of the relatives home too, she was compensated but her lady emplyer would punch her and lock her in the dirtiest toilet with hot water dripping on her head for a day each time she forgot or did wrong. Her employer somehow got my maid into her bed room and it all started frm there, she slept in her room and had to please her like 4 times a day,,, my maid complained that it was very tiring but after that she was never locked in the toilet and was paid well by her lady employer. She was threatened by the employers brother to engage in sex and if she does nt comply she would be tortured too. I guess her brain did deteriorate during her 3 years there.

I'm sure you are aware that many of maids aged 23, 24 and thereabouts (probably 90%) are teenagers. I guess some people prefer to hire teenage maids but not me. I can guess what their main reason is, based on comments I have heard from other employers.
I understand the maximum age is 50 for maids and MOM does not approve fresh maids at 49. As far as I know, 50 is not the maximum age for maids working here. It's only the maximum for those applying to come here.
