Hi Herbie

I heard from one mother from last year top class(non gep), three quarter of 6e & f class, got into rgs.

Correct me if I am wrong.

I hope this is correct... πŸ˜‚

I think it's more like 3/4 from GEP classes for into RGS.
This is more like it. If u look at the school website calendar, the school has a GEP P6 Maths Exploration Day @RGSS next Tue. Maybe for the girls to get familiarised with RGS environment.
Planning to enrol my child into RGPS this July. Met a friend who claimed girls scoring below 95% for a subject has to go for remedial lesson in P1. Is this BS, hearsay or truth?

        P1 & P2 did not have exam.

RGPS give girls a lot freedom, school did not give much stress to all girls on study. My DD is P4 now, and got less homework everyday.

Yeah .....everyday, \"Mei you Kong khek\"
Many thanks for your quick response. Much appreciation. I was a little alarmed by the news for I thought anything above 90% is superb!

Wondering if the teachers and principal will take good care of pupils who are not in the GEP? If the general consensus of parents of current students is that such children are being neglected or worse still, made to feel inferior, I would rather enrol my dd elsewhere where there are more competent and caring staff.

My dd is a mainstreamer. I don't have the impression that the school neglects or makes mainstreamers feel inferior to the geppers. The parents of mainstreamers and geppers who are my friends and with whom I speak, have also never given me the impression that the school takes that view.

That's great news. As long as all the girls are being encouraged to excel in a healthy way, I would feel assured that dd is in good hands. I know of parents in one of the SAP schools making a lot of comparisons and getting upset about GEP vs mainstream classes because of unfair allocation of resources including teachers and materials..The school has to address such worries positively and manage parents' expectations.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing dd wear the uniform (although I hated wearing it back then - so many 'layers'..blouse, pinafore, shorts underneath (my classmates and I were tomboys and loved swinging on the monkey bars and I was one of those who kept losing my school belt and forgetting to wear school badge πŸ™‚

                      Hi Power Puff,

Your concern is a valid one. There is a difference in the way mainstream and gep classes are taught and managed in rgps but it is not because the school neglects or puts the mainstreamers down. No worries about losing the badge. It is a sewn down one. πŸ™‚
