Comparing Chinese Enrichment (Secondary)
-
hi there! I was just wondering if the Jiang education classes for secondary 3 is effective in teaching chinese comprehension skills because my dd is particularly weak in that aspect. Do they spend more on composition or comprehension? Also, are there any other tution centres or tutors who are effective in teaching secondary comprehension skills?

yes, second 3 is some difficult i think.
some artile in assessment book is very difficult. topic is hard, word is hard. and hard thought.
so in fact singapore chinese education is not very easy.
sometimes students parent do not understand at all. -
Dear all,
any dear parents out there have any recommendations for chinese enrichment for Sec 1 express. Thinking of placing my boy with Berries as he has been with them for the past 2 years. But because of their limited schedule, which is only on Sunday, so thought of having some alternative.
Thanks!! -
based on my 3 kids’ experience with berries, berries is much better for the younger kids (eg pre-schoolers, lower pri) than the older ones. you can attest to this by seeing the decline in the number of classes for the upper pri and the secondary .
where do you stay? -

Hi, thanks for your reply. I'm staying at CCK. BTW, have you heard of Stalford Learning Centre, at JP branch?? They do have Sec 1 Chinese enrichment too. Any feedback?? -
hi… i know there’s a really exhaustive thread on this but i would like to ask specifically about tuition on the secondary school level. Some of the existing list offer both to primary and secondary but i personally believe that they are better at coaching for the primary school level.
Next year my son will enter Secondary school so i’m looking at language centres focussed at these 4 years of education.
Being an ‘I’, my son probably engages better in a group environment, that’s where the tuition centres come in. One to one, he surely either fall asleep or get distracted by the monotony/boredom of a personal tutor.
We live in the Southwest and have attended Eduplus which is in my opinion, an excellent place to study after school.
Any suggestions?
much thanks -
Kid:
I read with interest with Kid's posting. I think we should start threads discussing about secondary school Chinese enrichment. I am now having problem finding a good center for my children. My elder one is suffering from lack of interest N having poor grades! Please discuss secondary school english enrichment here as there are not many threads discussing about secondary school english enrichment.
Thank you!

GG,
You can check out Xuelin in Katong 112. I know that they have sec sch program. My 3 boys are in pri/k2, can’t tell you much abt it but I know they have very dedicated teachers as my boys are having lessons there. All I know or experience is that they have very updated materials and exposing the students to lots of newspaper reading. -
