      Dear Parents

My DS (3 yrs old +) has always been very shy, but to my surprise, he told me that he's interested in dancing. So I search around for dancing school, however, most of the schools only offer ballet for such a young age group. I'm not sure if I should enrol him in ballet...
If anyone of you has sent your DS to a dancing school (regardless of ballet or any kind of dance) please recommend the school and share your experience with me.

      Many thanks in advance.
      Choon

There are quite a few places which offer hip-hop, jazz and tap dance which boys would like. Check out some of the CCs or dance studios like Jitterbugs etc.

My daughter attended ballet classes at Bukit Timah Plaza before. But I found the class size was too big and teacher was not so responsible. My friend recommended me another dance school near Sunset way and I transfer my daughter there soon. The class size is much smaller (not more than 8 students, and often I only see 4 or 5 students in the class) and the teacher is very good.

My daughter is very active. I found Ballet is not very suitable for her. I want to enrol her for kids jazz class in which she will exercise more :o). But unfortunately, there are only adult jazz classes in this dance school. After talking to the school principle, she promises to open one kids jazz class if I can get at least 4 students in the class. Now I already have 3 girls interested. Any mum wants to enrol your girl in the class? The time could be on Thursday evening or Sunday any time. Interested please kindly email me at [email protected].
Any girls between P1 to P6 can join this kids jazz class.

                How old is your child?

                All dance are good.

personally i would recommend Pole dance cos it incorporate dance moves + gymnastics. it trains both strength and flexibility.

Ballet is good for girls. It trains them how to walk like little swans…beautiful!

Kids would probably prefer Jazz or hip hop. Anything which required alot of movements.

I agreed that ballet does trains girls to walk gracefully. Well-mannered and cultured. Wise choice.

Are there any dance workshops for this June holidays? My dd is interested in dancing and I would like to let her try out.
