i told the teachers to start him off with rice ceral.. and now he's happy with the ceral but cut down on milk.. :slapshead:
cut down on milk means sometimes ur baby dun drink on certain days?

i trust my nanny cos she dotes on my DD and knowledgeable and very experienced. so i dun nid monitor her. her sons will play with my DD too 😄 she was recommended by my neighbor as they are friends.

last 2 weekends, i had given her carrot puree and she was ok. tis weekend, i gona give her banana puree. parents usually will give their baby carrots, pumpkins and potatoes so u can try these first. did u go to the websites we told u here? 😉

northernstar > cut down milk meaning he doesn’t like to drink milk… milk intake reduces… the other time, the teacher feed him milk he doesn’t even want so the teacher no choice give him rice cerals and he finish up the whole thing… don’t know is good or bad… PD say he’s suppose to b drinking 900ml a day but he’s drinking less than 800ml a day… some time even less than 700ml…

When i make him drink, he will cry n scream n keep throwing the bottle away…

is it because he is not suitable to drink milk? some babies drink soya bean. did u give him breastmilk b4? i think its not good to just give him rice cereals only as he will feel so full the whole day.

                Hi angelmh,

My 9 mth old is quite erratic in his milk intake after being introduced to solids. Most days he drinks about 400 to 450 ml. Sometimes more. My elder one was also like that. My take is to use your mother's instinct. If your kid is thriving well, then you can supplement calcium with yogurt or tofu. That's what I did/am doing.

It could also be a phase that the child is going through.

                My 2 cents 😄

I started with milk cereal at 5th month, then added carrot/pumpkin/sweet potato puree. Subsequently introduce fruits like apples, pear and banana. porridge was introduced at 6th month together with veg eg spinach and green peas. Delayed broccoli as it seems to give her gas (reintroduced recently and she is ok).I started giving baby meat from 7th month. So far only chicken, pork n beef. Tried cod fish when she turned 8 months but she rejected it, suspect it's the fishy smell. Will try again next month.

My girl is also an erratic milk drinker, had been on milk strike several times. Got better after switched from Nan HA to Nan Pro which I think is nicer tasting. But still doesn't finish bottle often esp when teething. Since she is above the 90th percentile since birth, I am not worried 😄

oops, i mean soy milk.. i see. i also give mine rice cereal 2x a day during weekends. my breastmilk supply is low too but i do not stop cos it's good for my DD.

recently, she seems to be teething. any advice from anyone here? where can i buy gel or cream for my baby to apply?

                    :thankyou:

I use Dentinox teething gel, available at Guardian and Watsons. But it does not work miracles - baby still fuss about at night although a bit less than usual. PD says the upper teeth is more painful than the lower ones. Can’t wait for the upper ones to be out and I can get my uninterrupted sleep back…

                        hi Trina,

for how long should i apply the gel? now i'm giving her semi-solid foods cos she just started. is there any food i should avoid during her teething stage? she is 6+ months old now.

                        thanks 😄
