Where do you buy chinese traditional ingredients?

CNY is round the corner, and I will like to buy some of those fish maw, abalone etc.. does anyone have any particular stores or chain to buy from?


I usually buy fr supermarket, and the quality is really not up to standard, but I dunno where's a good place to buy, n worry i will kena :nunchuk: by the shop owners bcos I'm inexperience.. can you share your contacts? thanks!!

There is a wholesale center at Victoria Street but I hv not buy from there.

I usually go to Albert Street Market - the one that is near to the Guangyin Temple at 四马路. On the first floor, its the wet market and the hawker centre. On the second floor, that’s where all the dried stuff are. Most of the shops are ok, I usually go to the ones with more people… I reckon that the shops with the most people are usually the better ones, and with so many people buying, their stuff should be freshest too.


I bought my all my stuff there, including all the chinese herbs there as well during my confinement.

There is a Goh Joo Hin sales Jan3-7 in Comtech.

Bencoolen plaza, Fu Lu Shou Plaza, the shops around the Kuan Yin temple all have stores selling the "dried good". Just go to the ones that has more people. Prices do not differ much and very crowded.

Chinatown, walk down the street from OG and turn left, got one of the lorongs sell cheap and good ingredients. But need to know how to choose the good ones
