The agency can do that? If the loan isn't that much why not just send her back esp as the agency now has another maid for you? Better than suffering high blood pressure while she's still in your employ?
Sorry, i didnt complete my post,was distracted this morning... actually the maid is still under my employ and with me not with agent. The agent knew about my maids condition and tansfered her to my home to complete her loan .... My agent recently recommended another maid to replace my current but wants me to send the maid back and does not want to transfer her cos he knows she cnt make it in another home. My maid refuses to go back and now the agent wants to throw all responsibility to me. -

which horrible agency is this?
since under ur employment, the law stipulates u r responsible.
The only recourse available to you is to threaten to write in to CaseTrust or Association of Employment. Agencies (Singapore) or MOM to lodge a complaint.
But u should just do it anyway. -
Errr, and you're still gonna get a new maid from this agent after this? :stupid:

I had dealings with this agent off and on for the past 13 years… husband and wife team. They usually take back my maid and transfer if theres a loan or send her back at their own cost if the maid dnt work out. I told the agent after 3 days that the maid is unsuitable and he was fully aware and told me he would change her anytime and it would be good to keep her a little longer as it will be good for my record. Anyway couldnt find any suitable maid and chinese N Y was getting close besides Ive been calling them frequently for recommendation.
I confirmed one transfered maid last wk but my agent was not around so his wife attended to me and gave me the next maid free as in their contract, i needed to pay her insurance and was surprised when she mentioned that I had to bear for my maids flight back. She contacted her husband and he seem to agree too. I wouldnt mind paying but based on my past dealings with him, he does nt hold me responsible if the maid is bad or unsuitable besides when I mentioned that this maid is not up to it he did not ask me to bear her airfare. He did say that he wont transfer her as her sister has been calling him and asking for her to return. His wife mentioned that they will make a loss of $200plus on the remaining loan.
I told her its ridiculous and if they dont wish to transfer her, its their problem since there is still an outstanding loan. The last I told them is since the sister wants her home so badly then ask her to pay the fare. Now waiting for them to contact the sister. I have yet to hear frm them. -

Definitely, each time i asked for any available maid, they tell me theres no one suitable and now that theres only one month left to clear her small loan they want me to buy the ticket and will forfeit the loan. Delaying tactics!!! I never expected this coming frm someone I used for years.

With Most of the Loan Money Repaid .... to them!
I would think the Most likely scenerio is .... U Will have to buy the Air Ticket to Send Tis Maid Home.
I'm Assuming that the Maid receive little or No Wages during Tis Maid Loan Period ....
Did U issue PD Chq for Loan, Or Paid in 1 Lump Sum right at the start? If PD Chq, Cancel the Chq, and Get the Money to buy the Ticket.
Just Curious, After Tis Bad Treatment form the So Call Long Service Agent, U Still trust tt tis agent again, and they will Get a Good Transfer Maid for U?
Maybe it is advisable to Put on Paper your Terms and Conditions, esp on Maid Loan, Air Ticket Home, etc, and get the Agent to Sign on it .... -
Too bad, MOM ruling is Employer have to bear the air-ticket. I feel your agency is good enough to bear the balance loan of the maid. :(.
I had a ex-maid, I send her back to agency due to her poor performance. In the agency, she cried and wanted to go back to indonesia. The agency called me and let me make the decision of sending her off or transfer. They told me she is not in good state to interview hence, putting her in agency may take DAYS or WEEKS to be able to get an employer. Haiz.......In the end I have to bear her air-ticket + balance of 2 month loans.
What to do? -

Can complain to CASE. Can also go through small claims tribunal and submit your receipts for a $10 fee. They will get both party to turn up and advise after hearing your story. But i dunno how they will judge though, no one had told me the verdict before
