My child was balloted out of MTS earlier. This afternoon, the school called and said there is a vacancy for my child. Wondering if I should take up this offer. In a dilemma as my child had gone for orientation at the other Pri school and we had bought uniforms and books. Positive vibes felt at the other school.

Would like to hear from existing MTS parents how you find MTS so far for your child.
Am I silly to give up the chance to join MTS?

My DD1 also got a transfer from the school i volunteer . But lucky is i have not buy any books and uniforms and still able to attend the orientation of the school i volunteer. I hurry call the school that my DD1 got a transfer and the admin say then u no need to come for the orientation (school that i enrol my DD1 in P2C).

For me, i will transfer my child to MTS. Just forget about the books and uniforms. Or u may want to sell to those have not bought anything yet... But must be cheaper lor...

Hi, we r staying near to greendale primary and horizon school. My boy is going to primary in 2013, which school is good. We r having PR, so what are the chances in both schools. Actually we may travel out of country mid of the july2012, so when can be the registration what is the procedure. If anyone knows pls reply…

P1 registration usually starts end June/early July. So, most likely you will not be in Singapore when it comes to your turn.

Prepare an authorisation letter and ask someone to register on your behalf.

I'm just beside the school.

Anyway, though hubby and I have 'decided' on the school for my 5yo, I'm rethinking due to logistics (the school is in Bukit Timah).

Hubby's take: Just enrol at his alma mater (Bukit Timah) and try out. If we really can't cope or my boy doesn't like the school, then we transfer him to Punggol View which is just beside us.

My wavering take: Why not just enrol in Punggol View and I coach him from home?
Then other factors come to mind: Overseas/competition opportunities. Usually new schools don't have school team and this leads to lesser opportunities. Not that my boy will most likely be on school team, but there's just a possibility.

Now, I'm sitting on the fence. Hubby will most likely say 'yes' to my decision. Study at a school near Punggol? Or send to Bukit Timah daily?
