So do we fall into the phase 2B also if we are not PV but within the 1-2km?

-
Any PV from St Nicholas, Nan Chiau or MGS??? Care to share your experiences with me??
-
Hi twinnies mummy,
Nope. Phase 2B is only if you are a grassroots leader (in the correct zone), PV, or member of any association/religious organisation affiliated to the schools. Distance will come in WITHIN Phase 2B/2C. -
@twinnies mummy
while it is too late, but imo there is no harm to try calling the school of interest and offer your service.
At worst, get rejected. But you would never know perhaps there are some PV dropouts or new requirements that your service could fill the gap. Good Luck -
Thanks tankee, will call up the schools & try my luck.

wow...congrats on completing your hrs. I'm still struggling to complete mine...All,
I will be completed my 40hours volunteer works by this week. May I know what type of \"letter\" or \"certificate\" i can receive from the school for P1 registration in phase 2B? -
hihi, anybody received news for PV (son born in 2005) at HPPS? :?
-
Ok...need some help here...need some clarification on this PV stuff...do let me know if my following illustration is correct on the registration process. Please correct me if i am wrong....thanks!
Say for eg, the school of choice has 100 vacancies left after phase 2A2.
For this remaining 100 vacancies, 50 will be allocated to phase 2B and 50 to phase 2C...right?
For the phase 2B
If I am a PV, I will be in this phase. If there are only 30 applicants out of the 50 spaces in this phase, all 30 students will be successfully registered with no balloting required. The balance 20 spaces will then go to phase 2C. Am i right? In the event that there are 60 applicants for the 50 spaces, then balloting is required and in this case, your distance from the school will make a difference...right? If i did not manage to secure a place
after the balloting in phase 2B (even as a PV), I can try again in phase 2C...right?
For Phase 2C
For PVs who did not get a place under phase 2B and move on to phase 2C, their 'PV status' is no longer an advantage. Am I right? They will then have to compete with all other applicants in phase 2C. For this phase, if number of applicants exceeds available spaces, balloting is needed and distance from school will make a difference.
Therefore, presumably, for parents staying within 1 Km of the school and not a PV versus one who is a PV, the only advantage the PV has is that he/she has a second chance even after failing to get a place in 2B. But once in phase 2C, the non PV parent staying within 1km will have an advantage over a PV parent who stays outside the 1km radius. Am I right?
Not sure if my assumptions above are correct. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks! -
hi, my understanding as follows.
Say for eg, the school of choice has 100 vacancies left after phase 2A2.
For this remaining 100 vacancies, 50 will be allocated to phase 2B and 50 to phase 2C...right? YES - U r Right
For the phase 2B
If I am a PV, I will be in this phase. If there are only 30 applicants out of the 50 spaces in this phase, all 30 students will be successfully registered with no balloting required. The balance 20 spaces will then go to phase 2C. Am i right? YES - U r Right
In the event that there are 60 applicants for the 50 spaces, then balloting is required and in this case, your distance from the school will make a difference...right? Distance will kick in - if there are 50 applicants within 1km, no balloting, all will go in; and those out of 1km is auto out (no chance to ballot). This applies if there are say, 40 applicants within 1km, and 20 between 1-2km - those within 1km will go in, leaving 20 to fight out for 10 places; those out of 2km no chance
If i did not manage to secure a place
after the balloting in phase 2B (even as a PV), I can try again in phase 2C...right? YES - U r Right
For Phase 2C
For PVs who did not get a place under phase 2B and move on to phase 2C, their 'PV status' is no longer an advantage. Am I right? They will then have to compete with all other applicants in phase 2C. For this phase, if number of applicants exceeds available spaces, balloting is needed and distance from school will make a difference. YES - U r Right. All parents viewed equal in Phase 2C - only distance matters (and probably how lady luck views you)
Therefore, presumably, for parents staying within 1 Km of the school and not a PV versus one who is a PV, the only advantage the PV has is that he/she has a second chance even after failing to get a place in 2B. But once in phase 2C, the non PV parent staying within 1km will have an advantage over a PV parent who stays outside the 1km radius. Am I right? YES - U r Right.
But I guess if you are an active enough PV, you can try to appeal and hence your turn on the wait list may be viewed more favourably - but guess this is the last last resort -
