Chanielle:
Hi Chanielle, i'm considering OCC's branch too. So your DS is in nursery classes now? Roughly how much are the fees? Thanks!
LSH is not that curriculum-based. They use learn thru play kind of approach. Therefore you will see them playing with such things most of the time. Even squeezing their own orange juice and such. Although I am very supportive of strong academic results, I was drawn to the environment at OCC hence signed my DS up.charlie_brown:
Hi mummies
Today I went for a day trial at LSH. The teachers are not bad but one of the steps programme in the morning was taught by a Chinese teacher. She was showing the kids how to make a dough using floor, water, and then she added red ink and allowed the kids to play with the dough. Is interesting, but can I know how is this related to their Literature-based approach? There was no use of books or poems...hmm..I forgot to ask the teacher or P just now.. -
My DS is in full day nursery and it’s abt $660… Half day is abt $300+ or $400+.

The school fees will be increased. Guess Chanielle is quoting the amount after subsidy.

Hi Mayl
Thanks for replying. I always hear pple saying that it is often the mothers who are not ready to let our child go into a cc, and the child will be able to adapt well. But I also worry for my child who is going to cc when he is about 20mths.
Hi Baobei
The sch fees is increasing for all centres? You know by how much? -
@baobei
You r right, the fees I mentioned r for working mothers… Fees will be increased? Haven’t rcv’d any news from the sch yet… How’d u know? -
Hi,
anyone with child at LSH @ Mountbatten?
I had signed up my child for the class there. Wonder hw are the teachers in the Nursery 2 class? Is it easy to communicate with the teachers? -
Help!!! I read from another website about a child getting into an accident 4-5 times in several weeks. The last was a dislocated elbow because the teacher held onto his/her wrist very tightly. This sounds very scary because I have more or less decided to enrol my 2.5 year old child in the 3-h programme. And according to that parent, it is exactly the same LSH centre and class which my daughter will be in! Anyone has any advise? It’s the LSH at OCC flexi pm session…really in a dilemma cos the environment of that centre is really wonderful and my very timid gal seems to like it there. Just afraid that the teachers may not be patient and caring enough…?

My little boy is the in a.m. playgroup (first steps) and there since Jan 2011. My older son was there at OCC LSH for four years before he went to primary school.
I continue to find the teachers caring and involved and my DS looks forward to school.
I suggest you spend sometime in the school/class, with the teachers to clarify any misconceptions you may have. -
My son was very well taken care of at LSH OCC in his 4 years there. I found the teachers loving, responsible, responsive and very competent. That was a few years ago though. As ramgee has suggested, spend time observing the class. I did that a lot. They had no problems with me doing that.
