Funx3:
If the agent himself was in last week, I doubt I would hv to bear the cost, his wife does not know the conversation I had with him 2 mths back ...her husband was fully aware of her weird character n bad work and was fast to offer me a change, so I was under the impression he would do like before. He supplied me a rotten egg and should be responsible, not that he is without knowledge.Looks Like they Achieve their Aim ....
With Most of the Loan Money Repaid .... to them!
I would think the Most likely scenerio is .... U Will have to buy the Air Ticket to Send Tis Maid Home.
I'm Assuming that the Maid receive little or No Wages during Tis Maid Loan Period ....
Did U issue PD Chq for Loan, Or Paid in 1 Lump Sum right at the start? If PD Chq, Cancel the Chq, and Get the Money to buy the Ticket.
Just Curious, After Tis Bad Treatment form the So Call Long Service Agent, U Still trust tt tis agent again, and they will Get a Good Transfer Maid for U?
Maybe it is advisable to Put on Paper your Terms and Conditions, esp on Maid Loan, Air Ticket Home, etc, and get the Agent to Sign on it ....
I paid him a service charge of $500 n am entitled to one F.O.C.. He ws ok in the past but not till his wife intervene this time. My mum does not want me to challenge him bcos of old times sake but thanks for reminding me about the cheques. Yes, I hv 2 cheques wth him n may take ur advice. My maids taking $30 and the rest of the 400 goes to him. Sensitive situation isnt it. -

No, somewhere in chinatown and not many agents in the building. If I create a hallabaloo like a few yrs back, he will probably return the service charge of 500.... cos I had one bad encounter with him some years back when he supplied me one epileptic maid.husband and wife team? Is it in Katong shopping centre?
Can complain to CASE. Can also go through small claims tribunal and submit your receipts for a $10 fee. They will get both party to turn up and advise after hearing your story. But i dunno how they will judge though, no one had told me the verdict before -

I had one maid that sought the help frm MOM as she felt that she should not bear her airfare bac to filipines as the agent has made 7 months frm her n she paid her own fare to come in. I told her she signed the contract with them and agreed but she wanted to go home and wanted the agent and not me to pay her fare back. MOM interviewed her and wrote me a letter stating that my maid spoke with them and wants to return home, in this case they also stated that the three of us should settle among ourselves regarding her departure. I guess she must hv spoken ill of the agent. agent of course refuse to budge and held back my replacement unless i paid the fare, after a lot of squabble the agent eventually paid.Too bad, MOM ruling is Employer have to bear the air-ticket. I feel your agency is good enough to bear the balance loan of the maid. :(.
I had a ex-maid, I send her back to agency due to her poor performance. In the agency, she cried and wanted to go back to indonesia. The agency called me and let me make the decision of sending her off or transfer. They told me she is not in good state to interview hence, putting her in agency may take DAYS or WEEKS to be able to get an employer. Haiz.......In the end I have to bear her air-ticket + balance of 2 month loans.
What to do? -
Sigh! We will always get problem from maids whether they young, old, new, experienced, good, lousy etc like my maid who has worked in Singapore 7 years before she join me is extremely rude when her loan is finished. When I called her while she is on the Hp, she would shout back "WHAT!!!". I just tell her "there is cake in the fridge…" she cut me off from here by replying " ya lah ya lah!!" why she is like that? Because I interrupt her phone call. And this is just one of the many examples that she is rude. My husband ask me to bear with it since she is a good worker on the whole. So as long as you have maid you will have problem, it’s whether you can adjust yourself to tolerate it.

That's really rude. It could be that she's trying to show off to her friend on the phone that she gets away with being rude to you and she's ruling the nest. You should talk to her about it. I mean we wouldn't get away with such rude behaviour with our bosses would we? -
I did talk to her jtoh. But she told me she don’t think she is being rude and she just continue with her work. So what else can I do? Don’t you get problem from your experienced maid?

Oh dear. I had a maid who got increasingly ruder. I talked to her and told her that it wasn't acceptable. She knew it wasn't acceptable but continued. So I sacked her. Her work was good but I figure this is my home and I don't need to put up with attitude and disrespect in my own home. It's just unpleasant having to face someone like that on a daily basis. -
Correct, mine also know but still continues. Anyone knows the waiting time for maid to come?
