Sorry cant advise.
St Nicks' loads of h/wk plus long hours CCA, can't really squeeze time for tuition.
Try approach teachers for help.
St Nicks has declared 8th Feb as Day -Off ! :rahrah:

Any parents can verify that ?
Thank you.

Yes, that is correct. This is a day-off to celebrate good 'O'level results.

Thank you for the confirmation!
:congrats: ST NICKS!
Btw,looking forward to moving back to the new campus in AMK this end May, parents?
Heard its going to be a big campus.
looking forward to everything except traffic congestion - primary and secondary school students trying to reach school before 7:20am - that's a big nightmare! Hope that the mgt is alert enough to pre-empt this early enough to ensure that traffic flow is smooth on the first day of sem 2. Keeping my fingers cross - and really hope that the new P has this common sense foresight as well.

Hi Try,

I understand yr concerns and worries abt THE FIRST DAY when Term 3 starts, where SNG functions as ONE big family again in the enormous new campus.

The upgrading of the school does not include expansion of the street along AMK Ave 4. This is under URA and not possible to open up more lanes for traffic.

Fear not, I’m sure the ever enthusiastic SNG Parent Support Team(Pri & Sec) together with school’s mgt team and PV will be out in full force to regulate the traffic situation.
In fact, there will be existing and new PV helping Pri pupils alight’g from cars along St 13 daily when sch starts in July. Kudos to these parents helpers as Pri girls take a while to alight from cars. I only see such help in St Nicks.

SNG is a Full Sch( Pri & Sec), as such it’s impossible to solve the traffic situation entirely. Other Schs have similar traffic prob.

All we can do as parents is exercise a little more patience. After all, Safety of our children is utmost importantance.

Thank you.

I agree that safety is of utmost importance. However, mgt should remember that if they themselves are not able to solve the traffic woes, they should inform the teachers not to penalise the children for the first week or so(if they are going to be late due to terrible traffic), until all can get the hang of the traffic situation. Sometimes, it is not the fault of the child, but the parent who cause a child to be late.

Frankly, there are schools with similar population size(full schools or popular schools with 2600++ students, with less gates for students to enter from) which are able to have smooth traffic flow. It all boils down to how much foresight or how proactive the mgt is.

Hi Try,

U mentioned teachers penalised SNG girls for being late when Term 3 starts…I believe sch mgt is awared of traffic situation 1st week n will not unreasonably punish the girls.

You mentined ‘Other Full Schs n bigger pupils’ enrollment Schs have smoother traffic as compared to SNG’…sorry if I don’t know such Schs.
From what I reckon, (no Schs names mention here)-these popular Schs are Double Sessions. The other Full Schs maybe located along main road.
Does it matter if located along main road?
Yes, it does.
Main road will hv at least 3 lanes. So if lst 2 lanes are occupied by parents send’g kids to the sch, still have the last lane for passing cars.

SNG AMK location at St 13 is a single lane road. Parents use this lane to send kids to Pri Section. So will be congested.
Sec girls usually use Ave 2 which has 2 lanes so traffic there will be smoother there.

I’m not sure which level yr girl in. But sch is opened to suggestions, do drop P a note if you have any suggestion.

Just go earlier if you are afraid of being late. Aim to reach school no later than 7.05am. Or even better - before 7am. Traffic will be fairly smooth. Have sent our girl to SNGS for 10yrs and the traffic is really ok, lah.

True, my school is a full school too and the traffic congestion outside is really terrible in Mornings and dismissal times. Cars cant even move at times.
