I choose according to wat I like .... She can always pick her own instrument when she get older.... Rite now our hse is too small for a piano.. Hopefully next time she can buy a bigger hse to fit the piano
When Lang Lang learnt piano in Beijing, they lived in a room big enough to put 2 beds and the piano only. -

I wonder at which age they will definitely know what they prefer. It's a monitoring process I guess. My 3 older kids selected their instruments and asked to learn, so I'm sure they know what interests them. But then, they were 7. I had one boy who actually played 3 instruments until he dropped everything by the time he was in P5 and stuck with violin. The whole process was his own choice.
Wow! I didn't know that kids do know what they want. After seeing this, I guess it will be good to let him try it out and see what interests him.

Ok, so I was thinking... maybe violin.
Watched the show \"流星花园\" and loved the way one of the guys played violin. I tot if I have a son, I will let him learn violin so he can make the ladies faint... :evil:

Haha, Dr Evelyn Lim, our SSO organist, told me last time that believe or not there are children who are actually quite enthusiastic about playing organ. But of course the barrier for entry is a lot higher than piano since the cheapest electric organ (NOT electone) i think is around 30K+ the last time I checked in Parklane. But anyway, actually those places that have pipe organ will gladly let you in to practice them since those organs need to be played often if not they will go out of tune.
