Is 2.5 yo like tiptoes walking is it a problem?

Btw ytd went to kkh slt caregiver lessons . Their child age group from 2months to 3yo. Very alarming to me n shocking. All can't talk in sentence or no words at all I felt so sad ... N more over the waiting slt assessment we got to wait 3 months. Gosh !'
Yes the waiting time for KKH SLT is super long 😞

I also waited quite sometime for them to access my kid. If you can afford, best to find pte speech therapy and get him started first. And bear in mind, if your kid is already enroll in EIPIC, after the assessment, they wont offer you any more KKH speech therapy as the EIPIC centre supposed to cover speech therapy session.

Here's the list of EIPIC fee for 2012. Different centre charges differently.

              http://www.cel.sg/Services_Child_Early-Intervention-Programme-for-Infants-Children.aspx

Some centres need parents to company the kid. Some no need. So you might want to consider this before selecting a EIPIC.

Have you attended the EIPIC talk in KKH? Its a talk held by the social workers where they will give you more details about EIPIC program and recommend programs suitable for parents and kids. Of cos they can also listen to you and answer any of the questions that you have regarding the next steps for your kids.

I find the session quite useful. Also most eipic centre has a waiting list. Some even wait for 1 year. So just registered yourself first before deciding whether going ahead cos you might still need to wait sometime.

Hi all parents who wish to send your ASD kid to a mainstream pr sch in future,

I just attended an AWWA course given by a literacy coach who trains the allied educators (AED) and teachers in EIPIC centres. She said that St Andrew Pr’s AED team is solid, compared to those in other schools. She was full of praise for the AED team in St Andrew. Just want to share this info with parents, esp those wish to send ASD kids to mainstream pr.

Btw you can enrol your son in childcare centres that take in kids with autism πŸ˜„. I understand that teachers in these centres have been specially trained to help kids with special needs, plus the fees at these centres are similar to what other normal childcare centres are charging. I believe he will thrive better in such childcare centre than in ordinary ones.

And following is one such childcare group:

                      http://www.pcs.org.sg/iccp.html
INTEGRATED CHILDCARE PROGRAMME (ICCP)

The ICCP is an inclusive programme provided in existing Child Care Centres which allows children, age 2-6 years, with special needs to learn alongside their regular peers. The ICCP aims to provide a natural environment for the child to learn, play, socialize and grow up in. It helps to prepare the child for entry into primary school later.

The programme is available in selected childcare centres. These centres have teachers who are specially trained to address the learning and social needs of the child. The physical classroom environment is also designed to cater to children with special needs and specially designed teaching materials may be used.

Our 6 ICCP centres supported and funded by the Ministry of Community Development, Youth & Sports (MCYS), are:

                      Ang Mo Kio Childcare Centre

                      Hougang Childcare Centre

                      Jurong Childcare Centre

                      Tampines Childcare Centre

                      Woodlands Childcare Centre

                      Yishun Childcare Centre
You can try to speak to the social workers. I am sure there will be able to help you.
EIPIC shld be the cheapest therapy session already as its heavily subsidize by govt.
